The tale is as such.

I had seen Sykes trying these rebuys and I figured it made sense to have a go myself. Bigger cashes available and looser ragmeisters must surely get dividends in the end. I had already had two goes before, but got donked both times. However, I'd also noticed that a lot of guy didn't even use the add-ons and rebuys, which I have course did, even if it wasnt the worlds greatest bankroll management.

Anyway, I had no need to rebuy, only add-on as I started off in a mediocre fashion, stealing here and there, bubbling around the average - not really getting anywhere. Come the end of the rebuy time and I'm slightly under the average. Once we restarted, I got A-TEN and raised it and got a caller. The cards came down with an Ace which I checked, he bet, I check-raised and he called with A-J, but lady luck smiled on me as I got the magic ten I needed and doubled over the average. From that moment, the tournie changed. I had A-EIGHT shove into my Queens more than doubling me again, and then I shoved a small stack from the small blind all in with fours, only for them to call with Q-J, only for me to hit a set and knock him out. This got me to 2nd from 29 with guys falling like flies as the turbo nature of the game took hold.

Then, just when I was thinking that I could hold for final table, the only other bigger stack on my table shoves all in under the gun for forty bbs, and I am sat there with Kings. This makes me feel ill. The action folds to me and I did consider folding, but I knew ultamitely if I am serious about the game and serious about winning, I have to call. I dulely do, and he gives me a heart attack by showing A-K, which he was gloating about until he saw my Kings. I hit another set to ease me, and I became the massive leader by fifty% of the guy in second.

Now I could hold on to the final table, but still stole when I felt it was good neccessary. Come the final table with only eight guys, my stack looked more human and I sat in second. One short stack busted out before a guy shoves yet again into my Queens. They hold, and I'm now leader again. In the next ten hands, whilst running in God mode, I hoover and eliminate every other stack at the table bar one, who was an extremely aggressive guy who had rubbed a lot of guys the wrong way on his way to the final table. He was giving me the chat, so I decided to be relatively laid back in HU, with the normal raises when right. Sure enough he was constantly shove, shove, shove, so I waited for a bit before just calling with Jacks. He shoved, I insta called his K-EIGHT and the TEN-J-Q-K-5 gave me the victory and five hundred smackaroos!

Re-bought my DS with a game, so I took a bit of my winnings out, so now I have a roll around foureighty.

I might try some of these rebuys tonight.

Not entirely sure if I'll be suited to them if I'm honest. In the later stages of DML's game it became a pushfest and I'm not exactly the luckiest player here. :shifty:

Excellent work DML. I think everyone is with me though when we say PLEASE play within your roll. This means if you are playing PLO it's still the same stakes!

Gonna play some £20NL on ipoker if anyone feels like railing.

Just made $0.50 from a $0.01.

Now first again! This guy tried isolating the small blind with his whole stack, I knew thats what he was on, and called with my A-SIX, which held against his K-EIGHT. Soul read!
