Half the squad are still on international duty, including all three keepers, so I had to draft in someone from the youth team.

PIRATES SWOOP FOR DML

GRcade Pirates have made their first signing of the close season with the capture of Romanian international defender Mirel "DML" Rădoi from Al-Hilal for a reported £5.75m. The versatile 28-year-old can play at centre-back, right-back or central midfield, and the player will formally join the club on July 1 after he passed a medical.

"I'm delighted to have secured the services of DML", GRcade manager Spindash told the club's official website. "People may question why he was playing in Saudi Arabia, but I know he's as hungry as ever and he'll be a big hit in this league and with our fans. He's a born leader and you can't have enough of them in the dressing room".

Prior to his spell in the Middle East, DML racked up 240 appearances for Steaua Bucharest, where he was captain for nine seasons. He comes with an impressive CV, with experience in the Champions League and the UEFA Cup.
