TASK ONE - 'ROOM 101'

The reason that all you contenders are here in this game, or even on GRCade is that you love gaming. However, for your first task - the Greater Game would like to know what about gaming that you HATE.

In this task, all players (including the reviewers) must write a small piece any issue in gaming that makes their blood boil - could be a game, a console, a mechanic used in gaming, something about pricing, game-stores, gaming celebrities whatever...but its gotta be something that really grinds your gaming gears.

All contestants have until Friday at 11pm to submit their pieces to myself via PM (otherwise known as private message). These pieces will be marked in a voting period that will be announced in the coming days and this will involve your nominated reviwers voting on the entries. The player with the highest mark will score 24pts, the player with the lowest score will score 1pt. All entries will be anonymous - so please do not say in the thread what you are writing about. It IS okay though for your team-mates to know what you are writing about.

However - there is a slight sting in the tail! Players must make sure that their choice of target is UNIQUE. If you and another contender accidentally write about the SAME target - both or all of those similar entries will instantly be pulled from the voting period and those contestants will score ZERO points for themselves and their teams. So think outside the box to make sure your entry is unique!

After the voting has finished, the team with the HIGHEST team average will score the 5pts, second 3pts, third 2pts and last just 1pt.

RULES -

Entries must be within 450 - 550 words long. No swearing. Failure to abide by this rule will see a 25% penalty being taken off your marking.

You can use up to TWO pictures with your piece to help get your point across.

The piece you enter MUST be original for this competition. We will not have pieces from previous writing used - this will result in expulsion from the contest.

Any entry that fails to be in by the 11pm deadline WILL score no points.

Any team whose reviewer fails to do their reviewing will be massively punished - you have been warned!

Not all scores will be revealed after the task. Only the team scores - the top five and bottom two individualsd will be revealed. Do not pester for more results, you will not recieve them until AFTER the first three tasks!

I act as judge in this competition, and my decision is final. Understand that all my decisions are made in the best interests of the competition and of a level playing field!
