Came last myself tonight.

:fp:

Loads of pocket pairs, and every time someone with a much better hand! Can't complain though.

I think A10 is over rated it can be a nice hand to take a flop with but if you hit the A i never feel comfortable and on a 10 high flop its got me in trouble before.

I feel like i've been battered with a wet fish after tonight.

AA small blind.

Everyone limped round to me so I raised it to 1k with about 4 left.

The big blind then pushes for about 600 more, UTG then pushes for a further 1k and then the chip leader re-raises all in and has me covered.

I call and cards are shown.

AA AQ AQ 10 10

I don't like my chances given I can't improve my hand if need be.

Flop

6 5 9

Turn

K

River

10

I then got my re-buy and find myself all-in preflop

Me JJ
Chip Leader AK

Flop 10 K 3 and thats me busted out

Just keep getting your money in good, 70%ish against 3 opponents is not to be sniffed at. Remember it's the luck that keeps the suckers like me coming back.

While we're sharing our pain, I have to say that I have been running like a one-legged gypsy today. All-in 12 times with a pair against two overcards and losing every single race. But, I broke even so can't complain.

Edit2: I'm absoloutely dominating this game. Down to 20 players now and I'm 1st with over 700k chips, 2nd place has 450k and the average is 200k 8-)

Everything I have learnt about poker has been from online players and friends of my uni poker society. They seem to be of the impression that books are often a waste of money.

I would certainly like to take part in a few small stakes SnG with you guys for fungies.

What strikes me is that you all seem to play tournaments, be it MTT or STT and none of you play cash which is where the more regular easy income is. MTT have so much variance that getting a big win like the above is quite unlikely and you can have MASSIVE long patches without even cashing. STT are certainly a more regular source of funds but the as the stakes rise so does the level of play and your edge becomes small. Cash on the other hand is full of fish up to very high stakes and is quite easy to make money given the right play. I currently play on crypto. I started playing £10NL in July and in 55k hands time I am at £50NL sat on a £2,000 roll entirely from poker winnings. Tournaments can certainly be more fun and it's amazing to win a biggy but cash is teh nutz IMO.

No chance of losing it, as i've already withdrawn my winnings. I'm a poor student so the money is really useful right now.

Down to 32 now out of 256.

Some guy was going all in, all in, allin against me, so I called with sixes - only to find he had Jacks!

But I turned a fluky six to survive and knocked him out. Ouch! Still, thems the breaks! Lets win this NBC Heads Up Round 1 Qualifier!
