Should I just jam the river considering my stack?

Interesting spot I think.

Organisers of the £100+£20 buy-in event have revealed details of a special Team Challenge where the winning five-person team will compete for $1,000 in a private online tournament as well as gaining entry into next year's Goliath. Points will be awarded for in-the-money finishing positions for members of teams only - the highest combined score will win that team the money, entries, trophy and glory.

£100,000 in prize money is guaranteed in the Goliath which takes place at Coventry's Ricoh Arena from 24th to 28th August.

A GUKPT Main Event seat worth £1,000 will be given away by Goliath organisers in a special free draw once the field hits 800. Satnam Sandhu was the lucky winner of the first Landmark Giveaway prize which was donated when the field hit 400.

This link says upto 6-players in a team :?
The tournament is already carrying a £100,000 guarantee but poker players like to pretend that it is not about the money but the act of winning that is important so a special Team Challenge has been announced. Teams of up to six players can register and they will be awarded points based on their in-the-money finish. Whichever team accumulates the most points wins a trophy, a $1,000 private online tournament and of course, bragging rights. In addition to this, teams entered will have extra coverage in the chip counts and the live reports so that their progress, or lack of it, is there for all to see!

http://uk.pokernews.com/news/2011/07/team-element-added-to-grosvenor-goliath-6946.htm

Also there will be live streaming of the tournament at the Grosvenor website.

I wasn't involved in this but thought it was quite funny:

Hero (CO): $44.83
BTN: $38.77
SB: $22.38
BB: $19.83
UTG: $37.52

Pre Flop: ($0.35) Hero is CO with 2Image QImage
3 folds, BTN raises to $0.75, SB calls $0.65, BB raises to $2.25, BTN calls $1.50, SB raises to $10, BB calls $7.75, BTN calls $7.75

Flop: ($30.00) 4Image JImage 4Image (3 players)
SB bets $12.38 all in, BB calls $9.83 all in, BTN calls $12.38

Turn: ($64.59) JImage (3 players - 2 are all in)

River: ($64.59) 4Image (3 players - 2 are all in)

Final Pot: $64.59
BTN shows 4Image 6Image (four of a kind, Fours)
SB shows QImage QImage (a full house, Fours full of Queens)
BB shows KImage AImage (a full house, Fours full of Jacks)
BTN wins $5.10
BTN wins $57.49
(Rake: $2.00)
SB says "set it up perfectly lol"
SB says "didnt take in to account just how good these fckwits run"

At the start of last month my bankroll was $200 and I deposited $500 to get the deposit bonus. I've just withdrawn my $500 back out and I'm left with $1100, so somehow made $900 profit along the way (despite losing $100 last month), plus I have exactly 25000fpp which is worth another $300 if I buy the bonus now.

Only negative is I'm well behind schedule with my volume for this month. The main problem is that during the day the tables aren't as juicy and so I quit and do some reivision and stuff then just play for an hour or two later on. So I don't think I'll make 100k hands but I'll still try and do 80k or so.

So how many have we got for the Goliath tournament?

I can get a seat for £90 but before I buy it tomorrow I just want to check that it is going ahead and i'm not going to be the only one playing.

Yeah more would be better. If anyone else is interested but worried about the buy-in I'd happily buy 20-25% of your action.

I don't mind somebody buying me straight in or two people or whatever. Anybody heading up from the south?

I'll be driving up from Guildford. If you're in Southampton then it's a bit too far for me to come down and back again, but if you can get a bit closer I don't mind giving a lift.

The guy said the Poker Team said that they feel 2-4 hours notice is enough. And I responded they're wrong.

Well I'm not completely counting myself out but I won't be able to confirm either way until a few days before the event.

Massive groan-fest the live rebuy tonight.

Nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, break, grind, grind, grind, grind, above average - shove, A-K vs A-10, lose.

Some of the plays tonight were unbelievable, so, so bad - but I just didn't see the hands, and when I did I got donked - but thats been the way this week sadly. Can't complain after a month of run-good though.

Me too. I'm going to see if I can get lucky and grind enough to get a seat, but it would have to be a fair whack of dosh to make it happen.

Should I buy this seat tomorrow then or just leave it?
I really want to play but it's not going to be worth it if nobody else can go.

If it's just a lack of funds for some people I can lend you £50 or whatever, not as a stake but just pay me back when you got some money.
