Aye PokerStars pwns.

One of the best sources of info I found when starting out was the Harrington on Hold Em series of books. It's 1995 WSOP Main Event Champ Dan Harrington's series in which he lays out strategy and information about tournament and sit and go poker in an easy to digest manner. It also teaches (More importantly imo) a correct thought process when playing a hand which is usually a sticking point for beginners (Was for me anyway.) Drummy's got my copies at the moment but if you want he can pop them in the post to you if you like?

Re: The Super Happy Interesting Tubular times of PsychicSykes at small stakes.
Had another session today, lost a little (Badbeataments lol) but I think I'm getting to the point where I'm looking forward to sitting down and grinding a few thousand hands with the feeling I've got a good chance of dominating a table or two. Should be fun this weekend. :)

Busy weekend, Net installed Monday but working late so i'm looking to do a 180 Sunday and Tuesday.

Felt a bit out of touch last night, tried playing postion but caught cards early in the tourney rather than when I needed them.

When I get home i'll try find HH as a few hands I felt I played wrong.

I layed down JJ pre due to a raise and a re-raise before it got to me and they held small pairs.

I think it was early doors and I think they were just looking to gamble early to pad their stacks.

I think it's fine to fold JJ early in that situation as the risk is probably much greater than the reward.

After an awful start my cash session actually went really well. 180 hands in and I was down $60, another 500 hands later and I'm at +$110. :D
I just need to earn 511vpp by Sunday now to be PlatinumStar...

Also if he's playing that bad why wouldn't you bet the turn for value?

Edit: I just been looking at what to spend my FPP points on and was originally planning to buy the $300 bonus for 25000fpp, but I just seen that you can get a £250 ($408) Amazon voucher for 26800fpp, so that works out much better value (65fpp per $ rather than 83fpp per $).

The $215 Tournament tickets (and maybe other tickets) are good value it's like 61 fpp per dollar.

I have to confess that when I read the HH I assumed he bet the turn and got raised. Should definitely be raising the turn and probably folding to his shove. (Assume the hand would go this way if you bet).

Sykes your avatar is disgusting. Yeah perhaps, just felt it was a useful link for the hand. Sure its ok to remind people. ;)

I'm 76/93 from 7168 entrants in a $100,000 freeroll.

I was doing better but just lost half my stack with TT < A7o.

Edit: Got it in bad for the first time this tourney with AJs v KK. Flopped a jack then rivered an ace. 8-)

Finished 11th for $450. Was short stacked for ages and unbelievably card dead and every single time I raised with half a hand I would get 3bet and forced to fold. Eventually I made a standard shove from the BTN with 78 and SB called with AK. Flop gave me an 8 but then he hit a king on the river.

Happy with $450 (especially for a freeroll) but I was so close to a huge win.

Sharkscope is $144 for 12 months @ 150 searches/day (lowest possible option). I'm probably going to get this but as before if anyone wants to donate and just use my pass then they can. Whatever you can afford I guess. (Pokerstars = rexmcpwn)

Still trying on this 3.30 rebuy malarkey. Just came 7th on one which pays for quite a few more goes at a top three cash, but ran like utter gooseberry fool at the final table with Q-6 > A-K and J-6> A-Q.

Gonna go and try a live tournament this afternoon, see how I do.

Also came 4th in a $25 rebuy for something or other (~$150?)

Good day.Yesterday wasn't bad either, a fair few final table cashes. One was quite funny. When I play MTTs I play a lot of them at once. I managed to make the final table of a 107 man entry tournament without knowing. Not only that I was 5/7. Just folding my way to the moneys obv.
