What a sick day that was. Finished ninth in my Area Final - and bubbled the final table.

:(

I played some of my best ever poker today, seriously didn't deserve to not make the final table - felt very comfortable - just unlucky.

On the last two table, I got all of someones chips in A-Q vs A-J, only for him to hit a Jack a cripple me. Two hands later, its my BB, and I have 2k in with only 4.5k behind. The guy next to me I know will shove from the SB 100% of the time if it folds around to him. It does, and he sticks me all in. I look down at Q-4h, and decide I might as well go with that, as its about 50/50 I'm going to get a better hand next hand, and the range I'm against is huge. I call, and he tables 8-9s - and although straight and flush draws threaten to knock me out, I survive and back up an okay-ish stack. Then, after two steals with half decent hands, the short stack with nine guys left shoved on me for 6k, and I have 4k already in. I look down to see A-8 and call, only for him to have the dreaded A-J, which comfortably wins - making me the short stack again. A steal later and I'm even again, but its very much me and him for the ninth berth. Then, in the SB, find Q-Q and shove, only to be insta-called by A-9h - which dutifully hits an Ace - eliminating me.

Bubbling is so much worse live - its vile.

:x

Ipoker really need to add a syncronised break. It's one of the reasons I've stopped putting in a lot of MTT quantity on their site.

My laptops not working so I'm on a desktop. I also like the 5 minute break though as I can go get food and stuff.

That was my worst run at the 1/4 mil.

Played 3 hands KK raised got 4 callers lost the min when someone called and flopped two pair with 56.

Played a hand in the BB then last hand shoved with 10 bb with AQ and ran into AK.

Okay, so I've only just got around to installing the PokerStars software. I can play for free to get used to what I'm doing, yeah? What's the difference between all the different types of games? What's a sit and go? A 'tourney'? Are all the games in the Hold 'Em fixed limit tab just cash games that you can go into and leave as you want?

It just seems so complicated actually getting into a game. :(

Sykes posted a nice beginners post about two weeks ago I think, should I just stick to playing really good hands as a beginner? I don't want to stick $40 down and lose it in a few days. :( I want to stick $40 in and turn it into $400.. :shifty:

How do promotions work? PS have a $600 deposit bonus.. Surely that can't mean that they'll just give you money?

Cash/Ring Game - Choose a table with the blinds of your choice (5/10, 10/20 etc), take a seat, put your money down and just play. You can play as many or as few hands as you want and can leave at any point taking all that money you've made with you. Good practice for beginners since you can play more hands and you've not got to worry about rising blinds or anything.

Sit & Go - These are smaller tournaments that start as soon as the required number of players have registered.

Tourneys - These start at pre determined times regardless of player numbers unless there's too few. The players registration fees make up the prize fund so will be affected by the number of people who have signed up.

Usually the deal is with deposit bonuses is you deposit a set amount as your first deposit and then they'll give you a wad of cash on top of that.

Just got knocked out of the Sunday Mil about 90 away from the money. A9 against AsK hit a 9 on the flop to give me hope but with 3 spades on the flop aswell it was nevre wracking. A blank gave me hope on the turn but a spade sealed my fate on the river.

I am in the money in the Ipoker $100 DS $25,000 GTD though. Hopefully I'll cash for enough to pay for the just under $600 tournament entries I've made today.

Note: i wouldn't normally play the Sunday Stars Majors due to bankroll considerations however I'm working for 6 weeks starting next week so won't be able to play many tournaments so I thought I'd treat myself.

No :x

Lost HU in the iPoker to some absolute maniac. He just kept overbetting. One of his opens was 7x HU!!. I was just waiting for one good hand and whenever I got a good hand he never seemed to go crazy. Untill I picked up AsJs in the BB with about 35BB. He 4x and I just shove and he snap calls with Q9hh. The flop is Qs9s10x which meant it was about 50/50 equity. The turn is an Ace making me think I'm ahead untill I realise he has 2 pair but the equity is still 50/50. However the river is another Queen and I lose.

Still got $4,696.50. If I had won I was going to cash out the difference between the 1st and 2nd but now I don't know what to do.

Wow, another very nice result even if you did get unlucky HU. How much are you up this last month or two?

Also, how can you afford to be so high Ecno? I mean I know you can NOW - but how can you generally?

strawberry floating nice one Enco. Shoving AJ there is bad IMO, even if he did call down with worse. You can get so much value post flop and at 35BB deep you shouldn't be getting AI pre with anything near as bad as that. Why make it a gamble to win when you can probably get yourself in a much better spot by calling?

DML whilst Enco is pwning the world atm he does regularly not cash in tournaments though. As he said he spent $600 on MTT yesterday! I'm sure he is well aware he is running like a machine though. Nobody gon be sustaining winrates that big of a decent sample. 200%!!!!

Hats off though. It's good to have things like this in the title and you're an asset to the pokerthread! I do think you should make a vid though next MTT you get semi deep in and talk us through what is going on. I mean, you can totally afford a mic. :P

Gonna play the $25 rebuy again in a bizzle. Keep min cashing in things atm. Pissing me off.

For MTTs 150%-?? is a long term attainable ROI, not saying I'm good enough to establish that, and I don't understand why I keep winning I'm really not very good the only thing I can do is manage not to spew, and select pre flop hands ok.

Proof I don't always win. 10/20 Level 6 minutes in $44

I would make a video but I have no idea how, and would probably cause me a great deal of stress as computers and software annoy the hell out of me.

Haha camtasia is pretty easy to use. Just download it and get a keygen from.... somewhere.

I will vid some MTTs later in the month when I am not at work. When I play in evenings I am also working ya see.

EDIT: 150%? Really? Seems pretty sick to me.

150% isn't unrealistic but ROI is a fairly pointless statistic with MTTs.

I think that's attainable at the MTTs I/we play. I imagine less so at high stakes no ones a donk tournaments.
