What's the best action movie of the 90's?

Following on from my last awesome topic....

For me personally, it's The Rock. It's just pure awesome from start to finish.

That's a tough group, though.

I voted for Total Recall, mainly because I thought it would get left out and I love the film.

Terminator 2 is probably my favourite on the list though.

T2 for me. I was going to say The Matrix, but I remembered back to when i came out of the cinema after seeing Terminator 2 and I was so hyped up from it. My mate and I were jumping about pretending to be Arnie.

Face/Off, Con Air, and Cliffhanger are just terrible films and not even so-bad-they're-good as action films.

No Independence Day, Stargate or First Contact? I'd have them on instead of MIB in terms of action. Not seen all the films on the list, but out of the ones I have seen I'd plump for the Matrix. The lobby scene was just

They're so bad especially the Nic Cage ones. I imagine there are probably one or two films that deserve to be on the list ahead of them.

The rest of the films are great though.

I could have included far more but I wanted to limit it. ID4, Twister, Hard Boiled, Out for Justice & Sudden Death all nearly made the grade.

Speed. It's just one of the most exciting films I've ever seen, and it's got a central pairing you're really rooting for. Amazing baddie, too. "Pop quiz, hotshot..."

The Matrix and T2 would fight it out for second. Then Face/Off and Starship Troopers to make up the top five.
