Mercedes team boss Ross Brawn seems agreed that the Ferrari is the quickest car in Valencia.

It could be the reason why they didn't develop their cars last year and now they looks to be quickest out there, but it's still early days yet.

Yeah they could be quick, but it's also possible they are running light to get quick times and attract sponsers.

Considering the new regulations this year, I'm wondering whether the constant discussion over who is setting blistering low-fuel times is fairly irrelevant when how the car handles when it is brimmed up will possibly be a more influential factor over the course of the season.

I love the colour of the VF1 but is it me or does it look like the car doesn't actually exist yet. It looks like a computer mock up?

When's the next testing round scheduled?

10th February at Jerez.

I think it will be a week of testing.

It's from the wednesday until the Saturday and then wed-sat again the week after.

Ferrari looks stunning!

the virgin? i believe it was designed by a guy who used to do indy cars, using the same 'computer simulation only' method he used in the US rather than with wind tunnels and real models...

So the Virgin car is either gonna be a total pile of **** or it could be amazing.

Seeing as their justification for using the virtual method of design was cost cutting, I'm gonna go for the former.

That's good, hopefully Legard will be better this season and it's brilliant to still have Anthony Davidson for the practice sessions. If Brundle ever decides to give it up, they already have a ready-made replacement in Davidson, it's just a shame he's not actually racing!

Nothing to do with the new article on ITV-F1, I am going to be supporting Kovi in the forthcoming season.

Hopefully he can do some damage with Lotus.

I was reading some analysis over the weekend of the first test. Apparently on the long runs the Mclaren was the fastest car with Ferrari just behind. Ferrari tended to focus on the short runs, but on the longer runs were slightly behind Macca.

It will be interesting to see if the true pace of the teams is revealed more this week.
