I'm sure all those Indians who were burning their effigies a couple of years ago are rubbing their hands together with glee...

Sorry to bring that woman to our shiny new forum, by the way :(

Whilst I wouldn't wish that on anyone, does anyone else find the timing slightly curious?

I very much doubt she chose to get cancer just to gain more publicity.

Well it is a terrible thing to suggest I know, but she went to India to try and repair her reputation and what better way to do it than to reveal you have cancer whilst over there.

As I say, its a terrible thing to even suggest but given her past I can't help but wonder.

EDIT: Just seen MCNs post. What I meant was that she might have delayed the announcement for maximum effect.

Cue pleasant "she deserves it" post from obligatory resident idiot.

Edit: also,

Well, what she did was bad, but nobody ever deserves to get cancer.

As much as she's annoying, wishing cancer on her is not right.

Gary Glitter however.....

From Wikipedia

Prognosis depends on the stage of the cancer. With treatment, 80 to 90% of women with stage I cancer and 50 to 65% of those with stage II cancer are alive 5 years after diagnosis. Only 25 to 35% of women with stage III cancer and 15% or fewer of those with stage IV cancer are alive after 5 years.

Which makes it all the more unlikely that she decided to delay the announcement (and therefore treatment) to gain publicity. Only the most unrealistically cynical person could think that.

The 27-year-old had been appearing in an Indian version of Big Brother, called Bigg Boss.

Bigg Boss? That's awesome.

You all seem to be assuming it's actually true. Max Clifford is involved. There are no depths he won't sink to.

Doesn't he usually specialise in stopping information from being released?
