GRSOP 2011 - DRUMMY WINS MAIN EVENT AND POTY!

It's that time of year again and the players of the Poker Thread would like to invite all GRcade members to our annual series of online poker!

This prestigious extravaganza will be hosted on the Pokerstars client using their unique home game feature. It is super simple to use and our club is exclusive to GR members only.

We will be following previous years structures with a few tweaks to the points structure and event schedule:

(Please note that Pokerstars will take an additional 10% fee for each tournament e.g. $3 tournament will cost $3.30 to enter - basically nothing for the fun that will be had!)

Events Structure:

Event #1: $3 Heads up No Limit Hold'em shootout. Wednesday 12th October.

Event #2: $3 8-Game. Sunday 16th October.

Event #3 $3 No Limit Holdem. Wednesday 19th October.

Event #4 $3 Seven Card Stud. Sunday 23rd October.

Event #5 $3 Omaha. Wednesday 26th October.

Event #6 $10 MAIN EVENT. No Limit Holdem. Sunday 30th October.

Download the client from http://www.pokerstars.co.uk/ then your write your chosen Pokerstars username in this thread requesting an invite and Drumstick will add you.

I won't be able to take part in the Wednesday events, unless you're planning on starting late (9.30pm-ish). May consider joining some of the Sunday sessions, however. Also, I can't play poker for toffee.

I know what No-Limit, OMaha and 7-Card Stud are, but what on earth is 8-game?

May take part in a cheeky couple, but funds are tight at the moment.

8-Game is a combination of 8 different poker disciplines.

2–7 Triple Draw
Limit Hold 'em
Omaha Hi-Lo/8 or Better Split
Razz
Stud
Stud Hi-Lo/8 or Better Split
No limit Hold 'em
Pot-limit Omaha

The game changes after each blind level. So for example after the first ten minutes the game would change from 2-7 Triple Draw to Limit Hold 'em.

8-Game is terrible.

I'll do my best to play! I'm in London doing a ridiculously tough 4-week TEFL course at the moment, so I'm not sure I'll definitely have time, but I finish next Friday, so should have time for most of the events.

I should be able to make most of the events. I never do well in the GRSOP though.

Would like to play some online No Limit Hold'em. Haven't done so in years. Wednesday evenings are no good for me though so I may play in the Sunday Main Event.

Yeah that only overlaps with the first event if it ends up you're busy with your course and can't make it.

It could be your year. I'm predicting that at least two events will be won by players who haven't won one yet.

Is the line up final or can we make suggestions? Because I'd really like to see a 6-max limit HE event.

Event 3 will essentially be a 6-max event as I doubt we will get more than 12 runners based on previous years.
