A few friends have been trying to get tickets, to no avail, and some have got them. Which is weird because apparently they didn't even sell out last year. Once some of the sales don't go through there'll probably be loads of tickets again though.

Got mine. Deposit paid and all. I've been waiting almost 10 bloody years to go and thought the 40th anniversary might be a good time to start. As for them selling out in 12 hours, I thought that happened every year? My facebook has been plagued with people moaning that they didn't get tickets as they were ringing up in the afternoon...I was up at 8.30am ringing the hotline for mine (eventually got them via the website though).

Anyone seen this? http://www.nme.com/news/the-rolling-stones/47679

tl;dr - Rolling Stones are favourites to headline Sunday at 4/1, David Bowie and (strawberry floating hell, please God no) Coldplay are joint favourites to take the Saturday topspot at 8/1.

o/

I knew there must be someone else! It'll be my first Glastonbury and I figured it should be a good one considering it's the 40th anniversary.

I'm hoping someone like Led Zep will reform for it but that's probably never going to happen. David Bowie would be amazing though

Me and the girlfriend have been looking at campervan hire for the weekend - they're all a bit expensive though.

Last year, the Jay-z year it didn't sell out till the week before. This year, they sold out on the day of release (which was at the start of the year)

2010 is the 40th Aniversary, also the last 2 Glastonburys have had pretty decent weather, so everyone is not remembering the two before which were pretty horrific

Not a surprise it has sold out so quickly, it is the full amount they have sold, so the only extra tickets available will be ones where the transactions have failed, so there will not be many left over.

As for me, I work every year, but with the tickets going on sale so early I have no idea if I will be working there again. I imagine so though, as the first year I worked it was 2000, so it will be my 10 year anniversary

Though my useless friends all missed the ticket release.....

I'd never buy a ticket to a festival before at least some of the bands were announced. It's just not my thing to pay £180 and then find out everyone playing it is gash, as they would be knowing my luck.

I managed to get mine online at about 8:50 on Sunday morning with barely any problems, and the confirmation email came though about 1 hour later :D

This will be my second time (missed this years but went in 2008) and I really can't wait, only 9 months or so to go :(

Glastonbury is ace even without the bands, I actually felt short changed this year as I was constantly watching Bands on the Fri/sat/sun I missed so much of the cool and amazing stuff going on in all the other places.

That said there will be some pretty special bands playing 2010. I am just convinced I wont be there, for no reason other than the tickets of gone on sale so early.

They went on sale at exactly the same time last year (well one day difference, 5th October) and took a few weeks to sell out.

Luckily this isn't what happens anymore. You can pay a deposit (£50 on each ticket) and not pay the rest until Feb next year. If you pull out before Feb you get your money back, minus £10 admin fee.

Although I can't see a bunch of shite headliners changing my mind, if I wanted I could back out and be only £10 worse off. Sounds good to me!

A Beatles reunion (Paul, Ringo, and the sons of Lennon and Harrison) would be my top wish. Never, ever going to happen though.

I can't think of a band who are 'big' enough to headline without delving into the realms of fantasy by wishing Led Zeppelin would reform.

It'll probably be Coldplay.

:o Maybe Radiohead!

Pink Floyd? Well, it would be harder now as Rick has gone, but it's still possible.

Surely muse would be a possibility
