The Dreamcast pad was so close to being the best except that it used to strawberry float your wrists up on long sessions, 360 pad improved on the design and I have to say is the best out there.

I dont know why, but that sounds strawberry floating incredible.

Agreen with that (except for it strawberry floating up your wrists :?: ). DC pad was great for its time. Only downside was that the cable came out of the bottom of the pad which was a bit wierd.

Well the best is obviously the Xbox 360.

Of what I've used, I'd had to say the worst was the original Xbox. Far too big, terrible button placement, piss poor D-Pad & buttons that had zero give.

Wavebird is my favourite. I don't really like any of the pads 100%

Dat Master System controller. Who's bright idea was it to put the pause button on the console itself rather than the controller? Every time you want to pause the damn thing you have to leap across the room to the console and hope to god you don't get killed in the meantime.

Nintendo - NES -the Dpad changed everything

SEGA - Dreamcast - The idea of having a screen was great at the time

Sony - PS1 - So iconic

Microsoft - Xbox 360 - It's just perfect, the ultimate evolution

I've used Sony controllers most. I vote that. And for Sony being the first to use Analog sticks, on Ape Escape

It has a d-pad worse than the Master System d-pad, how the hell can a pad be perfect with such a huge imperfection? Even my two favs have major flaws. Wavebird had no rumble and the Saturn pad lacked rumble also. The 360 pad also lacks analogue face buttons. It has form factor, good triggers and sticks, but perfect? Not a chance Sonny Jim.

Controller S > 360 pad.

The 360 pad, the new one with a fixed D-pad could be the perfect controller.

No controller has ever gotten everything right.

The 360 pad has probably gotten least things wrong, but other controllers are undoubtedly better than it for certain genres. It all really boils down to what game you're playing.

It's not going to fix anything Rik, it's the same mechanism!

Overall - Gamecube is the best IMO. Perfect in every single way, joy to use.

On second thoughts the 360 controller could be alot better.

AA battery pack replaced with PS3 battery and Micro USB

Better d-pad

Concave face buttons

More comfortable L1 and R1 buttons
