Reminds me of Transformers, personally.

That big red sword looked dumb. Hope that isn't the Xenoblade.

That looks pretty good, certainly some excellent graphics for the Wii. Xenosaga was absolutely epic in scale and this has been in development for at least 2-3 years so should be massive. Potential best RPG of the gen. Everything ive played, except Valkyria Chronicles, has left me with a bitter aftertaste.

Latest trailer looked kinda scrappy.

Oh well, probably won't see it over here until 2011 (if at all).

- 70 to 80 hours long, but somewhere around 100 if you go for optional quests
- the entire Xenoblade world is seamless
- loading breaks when you travel between major areas
- major areas are considered to be different body parts of the two gods
- battles are in real-time with no cuts/breaks
- you can see enemies on the field
- use auto-attack to target an enemy continuously with regular attacks
- move behind or to the side of an enemy, and you can use a special attack called 'Arts'
- once again, soundtrack by Yoko Shimomura
- pre-order "special soundtrack" bonus in Japan

Sounding better all the time

Yoko Shimomura is doing the soundtrack

Great tune

Will the soundtrack be orchestrated? I know it isn't really the point--me thinks I'll like Shimomura's work regardless--but I'd kind of appreciate some insight into the matter. :)

The music on the website is orchestrated and she did for Legend of Mana so hopefully she will again. At the moment I haven't been able to see anything to say otherwise.

That's reassuring; it'd be a nice touch. I can hardly believe that Japan'll be seeing the game this year, given just how quickly this all seemed to spring up. Granted, we've had glimpses for a long enough time, but the rapidity with which we've received this recent deluge has been almost jarring!

Shimomura did some great stuff on the Mario and Luigi 3 soundtrack.

Interest +1

Shimomura is a musical goddess. I don't think I've ever seen her make a duff track. The game looks good, but it's a must buy now.

I hope we get it, and it has a decent budget for the voice work. Nintendo haven't had a great track record when it comes to voices. Brawl was the only game that seemed to be well done, which is such a bizarre thing to say.
