Real mosters are scarier. You know, the ones who aren't just animated corpses. Big things with fangs and claws, and a highly honed sense of smell and hearing.

So the really scary thing is that there were so many people stupid enough to get bitten by one in the first place, in order to become infected?

It's the overwhelming force. It's essentially an incredibly violent and relentless virus.

Are you just being a dick for the sake of it again?

No, I just think zombies are the most over-rated and overused horro genre cliche ever.

Watch one zombie movie you've pretty much seen them all, only with differing levels of transparency in the social commentary department.

I always preferred the Romulans.

MCN in stupid opinion shocker.

Read World War Z or Walking Dead before spouting off.

In short - Zombies in and of themselves do not make for an interesting story. Rather they create a situation in which the story of the people trying to survive becomes interesting.

See, that's what would seem to be the logical way and it'd work if everyone was trained for a zombie attack - but in reality ( :shifty: ) if you were on the High Street and saw one, then pointed it out, no one would move - then it bites someones face off, panic breaks out, the dude with no face gets up and starts biting someone else then it spirals!

The great thing about World war z was the "whole world" look at a zombie attack - right from the 1st outbreak, to the spread to the whole world going down the pan, rather than the usual zombie movie style, following a few survivors.

There's loads of bits in the book (won't spoil it for anyone) where you read it and think "yup, that makes sense, we'd be screwed". I really love reading about the technical and practical side of the zombies, it's a very well thought out book.

That's what I absolutely loved about the zombie survival guide. When you read it and think "ahhhh! That does make sense!"

Why would I read books about a subject that does not interest me? I don't like zombies. Deal with it. Not everyone follows the opinion of the masses.

I was explaining it to friends, along the line of what would you do if a zombie attack happened. No ones answer was even close to the guide! I'm keeping that bad boy close to hand

Because WWZ is one of the most highly rated Zombie-themed books yet written since the genre took off, and if you don't like it you won't like anything to do with them, which is fair enough, but you'll never know if you don't have a nosey.

So instead you go into a thread about a book about that subject to tell everyone in that thread who is a fan of that subject, that said subject is gooseberry fool and you don't like and deal with it.

Whadda prick.

So you wouldn't get irate if someone told you Star Trek was gooseberry fool without having seen a single episode?

I apologise for having the outright nerve to express an opinion that doesn't conform.

Yeah that's what you did. You didn't at all say the genre is gooseberry fool and respond to people telling you why zombies are popular and can be considered a frightening force and suggested reading materials that might change your mind with basically "Yeah, whatever, I'm not going to change my mind.". No siree.

No, don't try to pull that bullshit. You can't say something else is scarier when you don't know gooseberry fool about what you're talking about and then say you don't need to know gooseberry fool because you're not interested anyway.

Why should I change my opinion? It suits me down to the ground. I won't change my opinion for anyone, least of all a bunch of geeks on an internet forum.

What a terrifying standpoint.

It's not like we're talking about anything really gooseberry fool, like Werewolves.
