I just tried to download Win7 from the MSDN thingy but it looks like they aren't giving it away anymore. :(

You missed the boat!

Torrent it! Or just buy it, it's not like you are going to be short-changed.

I'm not that fussed about it really, I was only going to get it because it was a free legitimate copy. I'll just stick with Vista for now.

Currently running 64bit RC and loving it, especially loving XP mode being able to run old games vista doesn't allow.

Far better OS than Vista

It seems to be having some compatibility issues with your keyboard.

I've been using XP since it came out so I decided to pre-order this back when it was up for the introductory price after skipping Vista completely. Looking forward to it now.

Ermmm, it's still on my MSDN. They never take stuff off that.

I am interested but I'll wait until I get a new PC

This.

I'm due an upgrade (my PC is 7 now, using XP), but it's still running smoothly so I'm in no real rush.

I can see it on there but when I try to download it I just get the error message "Inventory not available". From a quick search on google it apparently means that all the keys have gone, but they might put some more up in the future.

Anyway, I don't think I can be bothered with the hassle of backing everything up, so I'll stick with Vista for now.

There's always ways and means of obtaining it.

Total noob question, but what's the best deal on this.

I see students can get it for cheap and I know a fair few students, so could I get them to buy it for me? :shifty:

Meh I wasn't going to do it until I had upgraded my EEE PCs hard drive at Christmas. I'm sure it will be available again by then.

I've been running Windows 7 for around 24 hours and it's so damn good. The taskbar makes so much more sense.

And, shock horror, installing usb devices isn't half as hit and miss. I put a wireless dongle in the usb port, and it took literally 2 seconds to be ready.

I've just downloaded a lovely New York theme. Just need to make a nice 8-bit Mario, Megaman, Zelda etc. one now and I'll be happy.
