Saw this last night and pretty much in agreement with what the Watchmen fans have already said. It was a great film and I thought the casting was near enough spot on. Rorschach and Manhattan made the film for me and I don't understand where Banjo and Fail Hands are coming from. I didn't see Rorschach trying to be 'cool' at all. Maybe they could have gone more into his past and explain why he is such a paranoid character, why he feels he needs to where the mask but this is coming from someone who read the comic so maybe I could forgive the film a little because I know the 'truth'.

If and when the 'comic' is added to the film I hope they add in all the additional characters around it. The pyscharist needed more screen time instead of being portrayed as a 'stooge'.

Silk Spectre II, was my real big downpoint (well not her look, man i'd tap that so bad).

In the comic I thought she was always against being a super hero, that she was thrown into it by her mother. It came across she loved it and also why did they make her a killer? That was never her character in the book and that felt a little too forced to me. Also her time on Mars, I felt it need to be longer. It seemed too rushed. The majority of her charcater I felt that, just a bit too rushed.

Have to say, the soundtrack really took me out of the movie at times. Most of the 'pop' songs didn't go with the scenes at all. The only one I felt really worked was the opening montage.

When Dr Manhattan first steps on Mars, I thought that was handled superbly. That was one of my favourite moments in the comic and it didn't disapoint

I'm suprised the critics are being so down on this. I would love to see it through the eyes of someone who knows nothing about it but at the same time I got a big kick out of anaylsing how true to the comic it was

I'm not seeing the killer thing for Silk Spectre. I do agree she was rushed though - as with so many of the other characters, her role had to be reduced for the sake of the already ridiculous running time.

There's an interview with her mother in the original material that's revealing. It's not that Laurie was against being a hero, as such. It was just a convenient stick to beat her mother with - a variant on "I didn't ASK to be born".

Nothing that I'm aware of in Laurie's protrayal in the movie contradicts anything in the comic. It is, as you say, simply that some of the finer details are no longer present.

It fills in any and all gaps I can think of in the movie narrative, and injects a little more ambiguity into the story.

Saw this today with my girlfriend. We spent the whole afternoon discussing it's high points and low points but as I can't be arsed to write a novel right now, I'll just say that even though there are a lot of flaws with the film, I really loved it. I'd like to see it again but I think I'll wait for it to come out on Blu Ray.

I prefer the comic by far but I think the film did a good job considering the limitations Snyder must have faced. I liked both endings but I think the film ending was more believable.

Absolutely brilliant intro credits, may I add.

Ahhh, I love Watchmen so much. One of the best things I've ever read. Easily.
