Am I the only one who loves Gabe so much that I wish he would lose some weight for health reasons?

This was brought up well over a year ago in the Half Life thread. I think if they release anything other than a full-blown sequel people are going to be massively disappointed. This being Valve, that's very unlikely to happen.

I'm guessing if there's a half-life 3, it will be a next gen game, or at least I hope so. Look at the step from half life to hl2, It would be impressive to see the same kind of level step with a 3rd HL game. Episode 3 will most likely be a source engine game, possibly portal 2 length wise. That I would be pretty content with.

Had bloody better be. Think about it; if it were just another episodic game it would be about 5-8 hours long, and it's been in development for over four years. So that amounts to less than an hour and half of gameplay per year. Relative to scale, that would be one of the slowest development cycles in history.

*Honestly wouldn't mind an Episode 3 that's not very long.*

Meanwhile, HL2: Episode 2 GRPlayde coming up, methinks.

A similar size to HL2, totes. About...12 hours, or so? Can't remember :fp:

Depends on how much time you take to look around, on my first play through I thought it was closer to 20 hours plus. There was six years between that and the first half-life and that was on a completely different egine doing everything from scratch with much fewer resources. Taking four years for the third installment of an episodic series is ridiculous. They must have sunk the time into HL3.
