In answer to chalky's post in t'other thread: Depends whether you like Craig Cash's other work.

I'm on the list anyway, so I don't suppose it matters.

The fact that they use an effeminate French castle, rather than a manly English one for a start.

That said, I quite like it, although it is very light, and completely murders the Arthurian legend.

What's it like? I haven't seen it. Does it follow Mallory's Le Mort D'Arthur? Best adaptation I've seen of the Arthurian legend is John Boorman's Excalibur.

To answer your questions:

It's OK, its a kids program rather than a serious attempt to revitalise the round table.

No.

Excalibur IS the best Arthurian re-telling - Nicol Williamson's Merlin is still the standard by which all others should be judged.

Aren't there loads of different versions of the legend, with it being more of a "pick your favourite" than any being obviously correct?

Did anyone catch Doctors yesterday?

How amazingly unexpected was it when that big lorry got Nick?

Yeah, you knew something was going to happen there but this may end up being one of the cruelest storylines ever devised for a TV drama. I'm really excited to find out what happens today.

I thought Sunshine was very good, though it was a bit unbalanced. The first half was all funny, but by the end... It'll be interesting to see where it goes from here.

And following up what chalkitdown said in the now-locked thread: I thought How Not To Live Your Life was good, and quite hilarious in places. I just assumed that nobody else watched it.

However, new BBC3 "comedy" Coming of Age is one of the worst things I have ever seen.

Yeah, my only complaint was that it didn't mix up the drama with the comedy enough. The drama was initially very light and sporadic, while the laughs were frequent, and then it got very serious towards the end. I thought Coogan was excellent, though. We do this sort of thing quite well, don't we? Reminded me of Brassed Off in that it was funny but a bit depressing.

I can only see it getting more serious in the next episode, but I'm hoping it ends on a lighter note.

It's obvious his dad is going to die, it's just a matter of when - I'm just wondering whether he'll wind up getting lucky, or whether they'll really go for a sombre end to the thing. I'd be surprised given the narration of the kid, though.

Well, since this threads quite active, that Jay guy in Neighbours is a god damn psycho. He somehow got into Steph's house yesterday. Lucky Callum found him or it might of been toast for Toadie and Steph.

Agreed about the spoiler bit. Everything was quite clearly signposted, and I guessed the whole illegal gambling thing was a set-up.

I can't see it ending happily ever after.

Charlie Brooker's Dead Set trailer

The premise is that Britain falls to some kind of zombie outbreak, and the only survivors are the contestants of Big Brother and its production team. But over time, they fall to the virus, and become zombies. It could be a comedy or something similar, that's what he's best known for.

Apologies if already posted, but this could be amazing. If you don't know who Charlie Brooker is, do some televisual research.

Pretty sure it's not a comedy. Not just going off that clip, but I'm sure I read that it's not a comedy. Sure, it'll have a few Brooker witticisms no doubt, but I think this'll be drama with a shot of jet-black humour.

Please, please, please let a horde of zombies rip Davina McCall to pieces. Actually, let it be her 'mum' from those irritating adverts who rips her Pantene/L'oreal (or whatever) hair out of her bloody scalp and stuffs it into her smug gob. Then bites off those ridiculous upside down v shaped eyebrows of the bitch!

Aye, Dead Set is most certainly not a comedy. Looking forward to it, too.

And Coming of Age is ridiculously, nerve shreddingly bad.

I'm so excited about the new Red Dwarf! Not looking forward to the latest Kochanski woman though. I wonder if it'll even be her or if they've found another different actress?

I've found myself getting into The Family on C4. I absolutely hated it at first, but they've been growing on me over the weeks.
