My god this is about 30 mins too long wasnt it? I like action but the constant battles were very boring, however would be an HD wetdream. Liked the story but the end went on far too long, twins werent really funny and The Fallens appearance was utterly pointless and far weaker than Megatron. Slow mo Megan Fox constantly saved the film from fall asleep stuff.

I watched it last night, this is my mini-review (you lucky lucky people)

pros:
slow-mo megan fox bending over motorbikes
great cgi, it will look awesome on blu-ray
great sound effects
lots of bangs and splosions (which is strange for a michael bay film)
some great new transformers (i loved the satellite shagging one, even if his voice was a total rip of the Claw from inspector gadget)

cons:
the twins - worst film characters ever? they get my vote
shia the beef - became more annoying as the film went on
could have been half an hour shorter
weak story
the fallen was badass, but then suddenly really weak against optimus prime
bad continuity, one minute they are in the smithsonian museum, then they are in the desert plane graveyard area (eh?)
starscream - when did he become this snivelling gollum-esque lacky?
megan fox had even less to do than in the 1st film - great for us boys but not really good for her acting career

and why didnt they just keep using that rail gun on the battleship? it would have killed the fallen AND destroyed the super-weapon in one hit!

so all in all i'll give it a nice, safe 7/10

Watched this in Imax yesterday night. What a load of gooseberry fool.

Only a few scenes in proper HD, and the rest was a proper blurry mess  No continuity whatsoever in terms of storyline. Michael Bay ruins another franchise.

regarding some of the Cons
Space Bridge. Jetfire explained it when they met up afterwards

Cooldown/recharge period would take a few minutes I guess

don't fret brett. I also didn't like it how the pyramids of Giza, probably one of the most visited tourist sites in the world was completely devoid of people for the duration of them being on screen. Sam and Michaela (sp?) get to spend the night romantically under the stars in a spot where the tourist information is. bit annoying coz ive been to egypt and its just not like that, there are people there day and night, and they have shows on every evening that project lights and stuff onto the pyramids.

stupid michael bay, but ill allow it coz I liked the film for the most part

EDIT: Oh, and whilst I'm at it, didn't anyone else think the strip of desert where they have the final battle looks EXACTLY like the strip of desert in the 1st film when the soldiers first escape the US airbase and encounter the scorpion-looking transformer.

weak

That would be, and I assume you know this, because the character is "Soundwave", who was originally voiced by Frank Welker who also voiced Dr. Claw.

As an aside, Welker's original voice for the character sounded exactly like Dr Claw before it was modulated.

Don't you think that's a little bit nitpicky? You'd truly have been happier if there was a tourist information booth behind Sam and Mikaela as they shared their special moment?

If only Madcat had been more like Ravage, Dr Claw may actually have been successful in his attempts to off Inspector Gadget.

Chip's lucky that was old ravage, he'd never have survived new ravage.

"Hey Shia, so we're like the Gods of the Primes, some kind of heaven, anyway we're like in your head and stuff. Bit odd, this in a Michael Bay film, right? Yeah well anyway check out this awesome trick with the dust turning into something again. How convenient, right? HELLS YEAH!"

If only Soundwave had actually said "Ravage, Eject. Operation: Retrieval" in the film.

Just seen it. It's good. Not as good as the first one though. Optimus was the best.

I preferred Star Trek.
