In for a treat there. Was coming out the London IMAX last night and saw they are doing showings at 3.20am in the morning! Must be contracted to do a certain number of screenings before Harry Potter.

The quote "I belong to nobody" should've been in this film.

Honestly, any TF fan could've written a better plot. I mean, what if:

Megatron gets the Matrix and turned on The Fallen like Galvatron did with Unicron in the cartoon? Even this would've been better.

I know that's obvious but it must have popped in as an idea at the writers' brainstorming session.

Great film, saw it on the weekend, though I don't think it was as good as the first. The humour was plain stupid in places. But some of the fighting was awesome. A bit long is my other gripe with it too. Other then that it's what a big summer blockbuster should be. 7/10

Gamecentral weren't fans.

Apart from maybe the first action scene, we found it unendurably bad. Not only was it impossibly long, but it was badly paced, had an even worse story than last time and - most unforgivably - the action was disappointing. We were particularly appalled by how Devastator was handled and the nauseating (and borderline racist) Autobot twins.

Personally I reckon they should just remake the 1986 movie, complete with Stan Bush for maximum awesome.

All the military jizz can take a running jump.

Bay Defends Transformers Twins

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, which opened to roughly $16 million in midnight showings last night, has come under fire for its Autobot comic relief characters Mudflap and Skids, which many -- including this reviewer -- found to be the worst sort of not-so-thinly veiled racial stereotypes this side of Jar Jar Binks. Now director Michael Bay has weighed in on the matter.

In the film, the 'bots have gold teeth, talk about "popping a cap in (a character's) ass," and say they don't read. In my review, I called Mudflap and Skids "the Amos 'n' Andy of the Autobots and two of the most offensive characters in recent cinematic history. What were the filmmakers thinking? The 'it's just a movie' defense doesn't fly on this one, folks; whereas George Lucas had wiggle room to defend himself with Jar Jar Binks, there is none here for Bay and company to fall back on. It's just too blatant to be deemed anything but obvious and in poor taste. Mudflap and Skids will pull anyone with a half a brain right out of the movie, and they taint the overall viewing experience and prove to be an embarrassment for all involved."

The director defended the 'bots as being mere comic relief, and placed the blame at the doorstep of the voice actors who played the roles, Reno Wilson and Tom Kenny. Bay told the Associated Press that the roles "were kind of written but not really written, so the voice actors is when we started to really kind of come up with their characters."

Bay also said, "I don't know if it's stereotypes — they are robots, by the way. These are the voice actors. This is kind of the direction they were taking the characters and we went with it." He added, "I purely did it for kids. ... Young kids love these robots, because it makes it more accessible to them."

What did you think of Mudflap and Skids?

Just seen this. The forest fight with Optimus was AMAZING!! I must have said "This is strawberry floating ace" aloud about 5 times during the fight. Also, this was a battle devoid of shakycam. Coincidence?

Film had its flaws, but I found the humour to hit quite well, especially the 'pussy' line.

Saw it last night, loved it. Just a big silly summer action movie with great effects, eye candy and a few laughs.

I honestly wonder how up tight the people who complain about the racial stereotype autobots are.

If the cast were all human and those two characters were two smart mouthed gentlemen of color er like in some other movie then who would complain?

The movie is fun and entertaining, that's what I want from a movie about giant alien robots that turn into cars.

Loved the human decepticon but that does beg the question why didn't they all do that? Apart from the size issue I guess.

Because they can't replicate flesh in that detail I assume and only the little spherical decipticons that came out of Ravage's mouth could. Those things WERE the girl weren't they? I didn't just imagine that because my brother argued it was just another robot.

Yes. Due 2012.

Be thankful Bay is still doing it, not that crappy director who loves doing video-games based films (his name escapes me.)

Say what you all can about Bay, but he bring in the cash for the studios and when that is still happening, Bay will be still there.

As far as I know it is just another robot, known as a Pretender because they take human forms.

Thanks, twas a rhetorical question actually, only the human sized bots could do it. A Megatron sized human would still stick out a bit

Just came back from watching this. Didn't like it very much at all. Megan Fox and that forest fight were the only redeeming features.

- Hardly understood half the movie. The bit where Shia was falling down the stairs at college and the bit where the guy was climbing up the pyramid in particular. I thought they were speaking another language.
- Couldn't tell the difference between the bad guys in the movie at all. There was Megatron, his boss, and their right-hand man. Put them on a line up and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
- Optimus's final fight was a bit of an anti-climax as well considering what had happened just before. It must've lasted all of about 10 seconds when given where it was set and under what circumstances it could've been absolutely epic.
- I cared little for the characters as well. I didn't even remeber most of the characters names. The only thing I was looking out for was Megan Fox's cleavage (that slo-mo running bit near the end  ).

I can see why some might like it. That yellow autobot (?) was strawberry floating bad ass as was OP. It just wasn't for me though.
