Best:

1. The Dark Knight
2. Cloverfield
3. The Mist
4. [REC]
5. Iron Man
6. Jumper
7. Hancock
8. Rambo
9. Son of Rambow
10. Wall-E

Worst:

1. Be Kind Rewind (holy smokes, this is bad!)
2. There Will Be Blood

Regarding The Orphanage:

I'm going to watch this very soon. It's annoying when I read things like "contains a great twist". Now I'll be looking out for it during the whole film. Thanks.

The Dark Knight and Wall-E both have a wide general appeal, and both have exceptional incredible narrative. It's almost certain they'll end in the top two spots, with TDK just about taking it.

Are you serious?

I like Jack Black (and Danny Glover) and I usually always enjoy a good, fun for the family, comedy, but this was truly awful! I laughed at the bit where they were bobbing along with those pretend ghost-busting machine things, but the rest of the film was... embarrassing!

As for you, Banjo, you can suck on my fiddlesticks ;).

The Dark Knight was gooseberry fool. Apart from terrible characters and voices, a thoroughly confusing plot and a deceptive lead character (who doesn't actually have any superpowers) make it my second least favourite film I have ever seen in the cinema, beaten only by "Godzilla". I almost fell asleep in the cinema.

The good ones though (they weren't all released in 2008 but this is an exhaustive list of all the good films I saw in 2008):
1) Wall-E
2) American Gangster
3) Bowling for Columbine
4) Cloverfield
5) Step Brothers

You might have guessed that I don't watch a lot of movies. TV shows are much more interesting to me, and the only other movie I saw in 2008 was "Iron Man". It sucked a bit less than TDK, but still enough to fail to make my list of good films.

I'm not Sam (I will be soon...the operation is due to take place on Jan 5) but I thought AvP2 was much better than the original...still crap but slightly more entertaining crap.

Plus, it was nice to see the Predator homeworld...even if it was only a brief glimpse.

I prefer AVP 1, although they are both pretty gooseberry fool imo, the first 30 mins of avp2 was all about some guy trying to get with some girl and her jock boyfriend got pissed, sounded like a lindsey lohan film until Aliens arrived.

I also thought that AVP 1 was much better than AVP 2; I actually really enjoyed the first one, while the second was pretty poo.

Very nice, but why are movies that weren't released last year in the montage?

Defiance was December 31, 2008. I can't be bothered to look at rest. I have to pretend to work.
