Some of this years tat I ended up seeing (not describing good films, these are ones I thought were pants at the cinema!)

Max Payne
Wanted - Not that bad, but a strawberry floating loom!
Doomsday - WTF is this gooseberry fool! it's a film trying to be 10 other films, although Malcom Mcdowel saved it somewhat from being entirely gooseberry fool.

The 3 standout films for me this year.

Looks like I've been to see the right 3 movies this year then 8-)

No Country for Old Men is better...and I'd say Juno is also a stand out film.

Oh and clearly more people need to see Son of Rambow.

After initially liking Juno, I absolutely loathe it now.

Son of Rambow was pretty ace, a bit stereotypical at times, but good none the less.
I prefer there will be blood over no country for old men, although my dad prefers it Vice versa.

BTW the assisnation of Jesse James by the coward Robert Ford was that 2008? I liked that?

I have only seen it once, and it never really stood out much for me, apart from JK Simmons who was on fire for most of it!

Son of Rambow was a nice film. Completely forgotten about once I left the cinema. And Juno is overly quirky bollocks.

I loved it first time, I tried watching it again a couple of months ago and didn't get too far so watched Superbad instead. I wouldn't say I loathe it but it's not as good people make it out to be, as is the common complaint it constantly tries to be individual, the soundtrack is awful as well and I can usually withstand a certain amount of twee. Shame, I quite like most of the acting, Michael Cera's great and the general plot of it all is pretty good.

Might rewatch it again before I finally make up my mind, not sure how far I'll get though.

That funny screenplay that Aaron posted in the film thread completely killed it for me. I can never enjoy it again after that.

That is amazing Chalky!

J.K. SIMMONS

WHAT YOU’RE strawberry floating 16 WHAT THE FU-

ELLEN PAGE

Dad, you’re in an indie flick, remember?

ELLEN finds a couple to adopt her kid: JASON BATEMAN and JENNIFER GARNER. ELLEN goes to meet them.

JENNIFER GARNER

We’re so happy you’d consider us despite the fact that I starred in Elektra.

JASON BATEMAN

So who is the father of the little bastard?

ELLEN PAGE

Oh, just this awkward, typecast kid at school named Michael Cera.

JASON BATEMAN

No gooseberry fool? He played my son on Arrested Development. I look forward to the scene in this movie that reunites us for the first time since the show was canceled, which is sure to be a real pleasure for fans.

That scene NEVER HAPPENS. ELLEN agrees to give her kid to JENNIFER and JASON.

She enters a convenience store and meets RAINN WILSON.

ELLEN PAGE

I need to use the bathroom, as I’ve been downing delicious, high-quality Sunny Delight for the past hour.

RAINN WILSON

Sunny Delight? You mean the delicious orange-flavored drink containing a full day’s supply of vitamin C in every serving?

ELLEN PAGE

That’s right! I found it in the fridge, behind the purple stuff! Now relinquish the bathroom key geeves, I for shizz need to spout.

RAINN WILSON

I can barely understand you. Is there a reason you’re talking like what seems like a teenager designed by a committee of adults that have researched youth by watching MTV around the clock?

ELLEN PAGE

Yes, and you better start talking like that too or you’ll have no place in the movie, Dwight.

RAINN WILSON

Oh, er, uh, I mean that’s one doodle that can’t be undid homeskillet oh my god I need a new agent.

ELLEN PAGE

You’re so quirky! And so am I!
