SR2 on Dreamcast didn't match it and neither did the 360 game, I suppose getting something that right just doesn't happen very often.

You should play the PSP version, it's as close as we're likely to get to a proper SEGA Rally, it's from Bugbear too.

Is the handling better than the 360 game?

Yep, it's straight out of the arcade. Not as arcade like as OutRun, but it never tries to be a sim either. It runs so smoothly too. Wonderful little game. Shame it got overlooked.

The Dreamcast game was terrible, as was Sega Rally 2006. But the PS2 port of the original was better. And the recent Sega Rally was like I said just different, personally I think better, you just need time with it.

It might be closer to the arcade version but with the Nights analogue pad I think the Saturn version actually handled better than the arcade machine, it was simply amazing.

A lot like how Dreamcast Daytona technically blows the Saturn version away but I'd still rather play the Saturn version due to the amazing handling model.

Quite how you think this deserves your condemnation I'm not sure...

...there really isn't anything wrong with that handling.

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with it, just as soon as I turned into the first corner I knew it didn't match Saturn Sega Rally, every time I start a new SR game I get that feeling of epic dissapointment at the first corner and I was hoping this would be different :(

I'm just praying for Daytona on Xbox Live and that they keep the handling intact from the original.

Well yeah its different. But what I'm saying is that you shouldn't give up on it, what you should find after a while playing it is that some of that feeling you are talking about will emerge. You just need to learn it anew before you get to that point.

I have been playing Sega Rally today and I much prefer it to the retail version I played. It is fairly simple, well bar the lakeside track which I am struggling to beat on Arcade Difficulty at the minute in Quick Race.

I have been on a mission of some soft lately to try and complete a few arcade games, I am hoping to do Sega Rally soon as I only need 3 more achievements, but on looking around the net I came across this

How the hell does someone have time to do that?

That's crazy.

I just got 200G on SEGA Rally Online Arcade, I've been enjoying it quite a lot. A perfect package sensibly priced at 800MSP.

Yuck, broomstick cam. No wonder it feels bad.

It's still a damn sight better than the retail version.

With you with regards to Daytona.

Other people didn't like it either, apparently for picky people the bonnet cam is better.

Not sure what you are all complaining about personally, I think its fine.

Hugo, how do you get such a good start? I am losing out to you in TT as your start puts you nearly a second ahead :x

Hold the accelerator as near to, but not past the red line as possible before start, on Go! let go then reapply.

Also I believe using Manual gears will allow you to accelerate away faster than Auto.

What are your times roughly looking like?

I have just 200'd this too. Do you change the views for different tracks? For Lakeside I had to go just above the bonnet view.

Didn't realise there was a new table for Pinball FX 2 out too.

I used the bonnet camera throughout the whole game. Feel free to add me to compare times. They're nothing spectacular, though!
