Shivvering Isles is discounted.

Good enough to be worth 1200 points after all this time?

No, get the GoTY expansion disc and install all the extra content from there.

i'd thought of that but it's quite expensive now from what I saw.

You just need to borrow the bonus disc from someone, after you've installed the content you don't need the bonus disc anymore. Fallout 3: GoTY is exactly the same.

Trials HD passes the two million mark

Our good friends at RedLynx announced today that Trials HD sales have surpassed two million units. The only other XBLA games to turn those kinds of numbers are Castle Crashers and UNO. In response to hitting this huge milestone RedLynx CEO Tero Virtala issued the following statement:

“It’s been a little more than a year and a half since Trials HD was released. For a digitally downloaded game, this is a significant milestone, and shows one of the many ways the digital space is quickly growing and the industry itself is changing and evolving. We couldn’t be more pleased with the success, and we’d like to thank all our fans for their continuous support and enthusiasm for our game.”

Futuremark teases space dogfights, UFOs and cats

E3 is almost upon us, doubtless with heaps of new game announcements in tow. For now, though, 'tis the season for cruelly teasing and hinting at new projects. Futuremark Games Studio, developer of zero-g FPS Shattered Horizon, is joining in the fun with a teaser showing off three new projects, including a spaceship shooter, a game apparently inspired by UFO B movies, and something with a microscopic cartoon cat.

The spaceship combat game looks especially exciting. Small attack ships are seen engaging each other in dogfights, and making attack runs to destroy parts of larger vessels. It appears to be multiplayer, not to mention quite gorgeous."In true teaser spirit, we are not revealing any further details today: no titles, genres, or release dates," the developer said. "If you like to categorise your news and trailers, however, you can tag this under PC, XBLA and iOS. We will leave it to your readers to guess which platforms apply to each game (there are only 343 possible combinations)."

For my money, the UFO shlock is probably headed to Xbox Live Arcade and possibly PC too, the spaceship-o-rama is for PC and maybe XBLA, while the cat game's on iOS.

"We will share more details with you soon," Futuremark says. Hey, E3's soon!

Duels 2012 will feature core deck editing

Image

The next iteration of Duels of the Planeswalkers, dubbed Duels 2012, will see significant improvements over its 2009 predecessor. The most significant change was officially announced yesterday on the game’s community boards, thanks to a post from Community Manager WotC_Microbless, who confirmed that the new game would have the ability to remove cards from the core 60 card deck and replace them with cards unlocked as rewards for playing the game.

http://www.xblafans.com/duels-2012-will ... 14304.html

Preview: http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/27/duels ... -archenem/
Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012 looks to be an improvement over last year's game in every way. There's a much lengthier single-player campaign this time around, support for online co-op, a new Archenemy multiplayer mode, a cleaner, more vibrant UI, all running on a tweaked version of the first game's engine, so the controls should be familiar. These are iterative enhancements, for sure, but ones that show Stainless Games has made concerted efforts to respond to community feedback and offer a more robust, diverse experience.

June 15th for 800 MSP.

I don't if it's still there, but The Undergarden was 400pts in that monthly price cuts section of XBLA a few days ago.

I remember someone on here saying it was good?

Crystal Gypsy got a huge stonker over it. :D
It is good though. Very chilled out and nice to play when you've had an overdose of guns, death and carnage.

It's a mixture of very nice audio, visuals and mediocre gameplay. If you want something relaxing to play (in short bursts) then you could do a lot worse otherwise I'd avoid it.

Also, maybe it's just me but I think Retro City Rampage looks really crap.

You remember how everyone in the audience got free Slims at the Microsoft conference at E3 last year?
I reckon they should extend the love. Imagine if during the Arcade section they announce that for 24 hours after the conference has finished, everything on Marketplace will be 50% off.
That would be pretty cool.

Anyway, what are the deals this week? I still predict Rez will be discounted the week of Child of Eden's release.

I wouldn't say it looks crap, but it certainly doesn't look to be anything special. It's either a case of "you have to play it" or it's one of those games that people seem to think is great purely because it's "retro". I really hate those kinds of people.

It's very reminiscent of the top down Grand Theft Auto games, which may be why it's gathering such a following. It's certainly the only reason I continue to follow the title. However, it does also appear to be a case of throwing in everything but the kitchen sink and hoping it all sticks and/or works.

I was a lot more impressed by it as a NES tech demo, TBH.

I suspect that it'll be a much better game freed of it's 8bit constraints, however.

Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team listed by ratings board

The reliably spoilerific Australian Classifications Board has revealed an unannounced Warhammer 40,000 title.

Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team, which was classified M15 on May 27, is listed as a multiplatform game from THQ Digital Studios UK.

As Joystiq points out, in the Warhammer 40,000 canon, a kill-team is a specialised unit of space marines.

Given the developer and suggestive title, we could be looking at a tie-in promotional game for the upcoming Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, much like Red Faction: Battlegrounds.

So there's a Dungeon Siege demo up.

But only on the US Marketplace, and only for Gold members. Nice one MS, you really expect me to pay for promotional content?

No they expect you to miss not having Gold.

It's not rocket science regardless of whether it works on you or not.
