I love how the blood stays on the mat unlike the Smackdown! games. Also - the menu song is straight out of SvR2009

Really liking it now, ALOT of depth, great graphics animation etc...

never get taaken down though, I always get knocked out with a smack to the jaw.

Don't think I'd buy the full game, they demo's too good :)

The UFC demo is pretty good even if I can never actually beat Lidell. Red Faction is strawberry floating awful though.

I played the ufc demo for a couple of hours last night, won with both chars! although a few times I would get owned by a single ghost punch!

I still haven't worked out grabs and or submissions, but it's great fun!

Is that the song that plays when you first start the demo? If so that is the UFC theme song :fp:

 At the UFC love.Like everyone has been saying there is a hell of a lot of depth to this game. Even after the tutorial I was like "this is going to take some time". The characters modesl of the actual characters are brilliant especially when the game starts. But like yukes other games, the crowd and other personalities are a bit, well meh if i'm honest. Bruce Buffer looks a little odd (ok he looks a little odd in real life but not so much)

I'm going to give Albear suggestion and rack of the difficulty, once I was getting into the swing of things I was winning a few times. As for a knockout, is there actually logic to it? Like if he steps and you kick him in the head at the right time, he drops or is it more random. Either way, it looks flipping great.

Knocked Liddell to the floor and he was semi concious, ran over to him, threw in a superman punch and continued to ground & pound until I wa taking back by the referee

Also tried Red Faction, I came away pleasently suprised :o It looks like a poor man's Mass Effect but there is no denying how fun it was to get in a mech and smash the gooseberry fool out of the buildings! The map looked 'Far Cry 2' in size and depth so i'm pretty sure the game will get very repetitive but maybe a pick up on the cheap

Lode Runner - Slow, gooseberry fool graphics, gooseberry fool design. In no way worth 1200 points

I had a great moment earlier on, I was Lidell, I was getting absolutly raped, on the hardest difficulty, and I managed to block a kick, Elbow in the face, and then do the ong bak punch for a KO! I was going mental!

This is a strawberry floating ace little game, and it has come out of no-where!

Ultimate Fighter: Us vs the Yanks. K1 used to be on Bravo from time to time if I remember correctly.

I know Dave Falkner off the US vs UK show. I went to his gym once when I was training to do an amateur charity MMA event, and he said hello to me when he was doing security at a nightclub I go to in town. Lovely bloke, hope he wins it :) [/namedrop]

It varies. And what difference does it make, it's still used in SvR2009 by THQ :fp:

Albear wrote:Word of advice, take te time to do the tutorial, this game is very deep and strategic.

I did a bit of the tutorial and got bored of learning, I just wanted to crack some skulls! So on the default difficulty I won my first two fights as Liddell; the first with a TKO ref stoppage in the second round, the second an awesome KO courtesy of a kick to the head. Granted, I need to go back to the tutorial to actually start thinking about throws and implemention submission attempts after my pathetically feeble takedowns, but never mind!

A bit arse that this is so amazingly awesome though, I wasn't really budgeting to get this, but I reckon I'm going to have to now. :x

Takedowns are easy either shoot in when they're making a strike for an automatic takedown if you connect or shoot in and mash one of the face buttons to make it stick. You do the same when defending against them as well. Would recommend using Liddell to get used to the ground game though since he's a lot better at it than Shogun, at least that's how I see it.

I'm absolutely shite when they get on top and start laying in punches, nine times out of ten I end up losing that way :fp:
The beginner setting seems too easy but the second one up is causing me a lot of bother.
