EDIT: And from a first play, it's as good as I'd hoped.

It's now 1200 points. The 800 price point was a mistake. Lucky for people who grabbed it early.

Red Faction Guerilla Demo Now Available

If you're anxious to get a little hands-on time with Red Faction Guerilla before its June release date, then it's your lucky day; THQ released a single-player demo this morning for the Volition-developed shooter. The demo is currently available on the Xbox Live Marketplace, while PlayStation 3 users will most likely have access to it later this afternoon. PC gamers are, apparently, getting snubbed entirely for the time being.

DICE Announces $15 Price for Battlefield 1943

Premium Arcade Title Delivers Endless Hours of Multiplayer Fun, Legendary WWII Battlefield Action and Destruction

STOCKHOLM--(BUSINESS WIRE)--DICE, an Electronic Arts Inc. studio (NASDAQ:ERTS), today announced that Battlefield 1943™ will be available in June for $15 USD in the Xbox LIVE™ Marketplace (1200 MS Points) or the PlayStation®Store. The action-packed arcade title will also be available for PC in September. Battlefield 1943 is an all-new multiplayer game that offers endless hours of 24-player action in popular maps inspired by Battlefield 1942™, now updated with the Frostbite™ engine. The total destructibility afforded by the Frostbite engine ups the ante and leaves players with nowhere to hide.

In Battlefield 1943, intense battles ensue over three classic and tropic locations; Wake Island, Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima. Gamers play as the US Marines or the Imperial Japanese Navy, competing by land, air and sea. Players have the freedom to pick their path in battle - be it as a rifleman crawling through the trenches, a steel fisted tank commander, or a dog fighting pilot that protects the skies.

“Using the same Frostbite engine that we developed for Battlefield: Bad Company, we are able to take players back to WWII and return to the roots of the Battlefield franchise, but with a new twist – destruction,” said Gordon Van Dyke, Producer on Battlefield 1943. “We want to offer gamers the most accessible online shooter experience and the best value found in any premium download title with Battlefield 1943.”

I never played the original Battlefield and I know this one is more 'arcadey' but is 3 maps for 1200 points worth it?

Star Trek: D-A-C Officially Announced

STARFLEET WANTS YOU! STAR TREK®: D-A-C FROM PARAMOUNT DIGITAL ENTERTAINMENT - COMING SOON TO XBOX LIVE® ARCADE, PLAYSTATION® NETWORK AND WINDOWS PC

Players Battle for Space Supremacy at the Helm of the Starships, Including the New U.S.S. Enterprise™ from the Highly Anticipated "Star Trek" Motion Picture

LOS ANGELES - April 23, 2009 - Paramount Digital Entertainment, Bad Robot Interactive, CBS and Naked Sky Entertainment today announced the launch of Star Trek®: D-A-C, coming to Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft this May, and to PlayStation®Network and Windows PC shortly thereafter. Inspired by the upcoming "Star Trek" movie from Paramount Pictures, Star Trek: D-A-C is a fast-paced, top-down space shooter where players take the captain's chair and engage in intense online multi-player or co-op battles. Pick up and play, then lead your team to victory.

"The upcoming 'Star Trek' film has ignited interest among a new generation of fans as well as longtime fans of the original," said Tom Lesinski, President Paramount Pictures Digital Entertainment. "With that same goal in mind, Star Trek: D-A-C was designed to appeal to 'Star Trek' fans and gamers alike. The pick up and play arcade-style game play lets fans take the command and boldly go!"

Star Trek: D-A-C allows fans to directly control a variety of ships and pitch battles between Starfleet and the Romulan Empire. Up to 12 players can compete in thrilling team combat. There are three game play modes - single player, online multiplayer and online co-op. For each mode, there are three different game types - Team DeathMatch, Assault and Conquest. Players can choose from three ship types for each faction, including the newfeatured in the "Star Trek" film. Each ship - the powerful Flagship, the nimble Fighter and the devastating Bomber - offers its own unique capabilities for players to master and manipulate as they fight for victory. In addition to featuring the new U.S.S. Enterprise, Star Trek: D-A-C incorporates music and signature sounds taken directly from the new "Star Trek" film.

Star Trek: D-A-C is scheduled to launch May 2009 for the Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360, and for the PlayStation Network and Windows PC shortly thereafter. It is rated "E" by the ESRB.

I'd say so. 3 maps really should keep you playing for a very long time.

Put it this way, its only 400 points more than map packs you get for certain games.

A whole game for that much? Pretty much a bargain.

Another way to look at it, is its the same price as Death Tank for a 'next gen' multiplayer FPS experience...I think anyone complaining at 1200 points is just wrong.

The demo features Chuck ‘Iceman’ Liddell and Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua. Play as either against the computer or against a friend and find out why UFC 2009 Undisputed is as real as it gets!

I'll have a look at that, meant to be ace from what I've heard.

There's a video interview for Wallce & Gromit on Inside Xbox. Worth checking out to see the impersonator for Peter Sallis.
