Rise & Fall of WCW & Starrcade DVDs say otherwise. Sort of.

Anyway, Smackdown results for this week. Along with the show we don't get over here.

SmackDown opens with CM Punk & Jeff Hardy cutting a promo on The Bash. Jeff says he will win his title back. Punk says he earned the title fair and square.

Jeff Hardy b. Chris Jericho via countout.
- Hardy got the win with help from Rey Mysterio.

Dolph Ziggler b. The Great Khali via disqualification
- Ziggler got himself disqualified with a chair.

Melina b. Alicia Fox
- After the match Michelle McCool attacked Melina and said that she will be the first diva to hold both the Women's and Diva's Championship.

Edge b. John Morrison
- Edge gets the win via pinfall after connecting with a spear.

Cryme Tyme & R-Truth b. The World's Greatest Tag Team & Ricky Ortiz
- R-Truth got the win via pinfall on Shelton Benjamin.

Rey Mysterio comes out and challenges Chris Jericho to a match. Jericho accepts for A Mask vs. Title Match at The Bash pay-per-view.

CM Punk b. Rey Mysterio
- Chris Jericho is on commentary. He interferes during the match and Punk gets the win over Mysterio with Go To Sleep. This ends this week's edition of SmackDown.

WWE Superstars

Santino promo

Chavo Guerrero b. Santino Marella.

Christian, Carlito, & Primo b. Davey Hart Smith, Tyson Kidd, & Jack Swagger in a Six-Man Tag Team Match
- Good back and forth action throughout. Lots of high spots. Carlito gets the win with the pin on Davey Hart Smith following a Backstabber.

Eve b. Layla with Maria as the special guest referee.

Pictures of the move that killed Misawa have been released.

As you can see he’s gone straight down on his head and recent reports seem to say he suffered a snapped spine as a result of the move as well as a heart attack.

It’s the type of dangerous move that is common in all wrestling especially in Japan and in the independents.

The effect its going to have on the industry is going to be felt across all promotions as moves are no doubt going to be toned down and safe style could become standard outside of the wwe. I can see a lot of the more senior wrestlers calling it quits sooner and maybe even a retirement age being considered.

The WWE have quite an extensive 'banned move list'. The Shooting Star Press was on there at one point.

The Piledriver & Tombstone are both banned, the later only used by The Undertaker (obviously the gimmick plays a big role, too - finishers aren't used by others through default).

Blading is out now, too.

Regarding the Tombstone, I'm convinced it's shortened Taker's career, ironically. what with his knees often suffering the impact of twice his weight and all.

Maybe he shouldn't be trusted with RAW.

You do know that Trump hasn't really bought RAW and it's just a storyline right? :|

Yes, i am very aware that it's a storyline, as per all my previous posts on the last couple of pages  I was just poking fun at their choice of buyer with my last sentence. The rest is all true, i didn't know that he had had so many financial problems over the years.

No probs. Anyway, back on Trump. The main thing i can't stand about the man is that he can't act or talk in front of a camera well. He sucked so much in his fued with vince a couple of yrs back and now i really can't see him being any better now. If the rumours are to be believed that he will only be around for a couple of weeks, then appoint a GM and then disappear then what is the point of having him buy RAW. I will try to give the story the benefit of doubt at the moment but if he's still running RAW come November when i've got tickets to see the RAW tapping in Sheffield then there will be hell to pay.

I wonder how many names he will mispronounce.

Bobby Lindsey.

"Bobby, baby"

There's going to be some real clangers this time, I bet.

Creative are scraping the barrel for the bash. We're going to see the return of the championship scramble :|

Card so far:
WWE Title Match
Randy Orton vs. Triple H

World Heavyweight Title Match
CM Punk vs. Jeff Hardy

Scramble Match for the ECW Championship
Tommy Dreamer vs. Finlay vs. Christian vs. Jack Swagger vs. Mark Henry

WWE Unified Tag Team Titles Match
The Colons vs. Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes

And being announced on Smackdown:
Chris Jericho vs Rey Mysterio for the IC title. 87th time lucky eh.

Championship Scramble was quite good, just there shouldn't have been two on the card and it's not main event worthy.

Yeah, i too didn't mind the scramble. But having it more than once on the same card does lose it's appeal. I think it will be fine for ECW as their matches don't tend to drag on that much really so it should be alright.

Wrestling Observer wrote:A number of wrestlers were upset over the nature of Vickie Guerrero's sendoff from WWE last week on Monday Night Raw. Either enough people in the company were, or some sponsors were, because when they replayed the segment on this week's show, they cut out everything that could possibly be offensive out of the segment.

Many believe there is no way Eddie Guerrero would have allowed his wife to be verbally abused in the manner she was, storyline or not. The idea that he would have gone along with almost anything that would have provided for his family really only came about after he passed away. When his close friend Art Barr passed away in 1994, he told AAA officials he would do nothing that would exploit his death.

Following her sendoff, many people went up to Guerrero to say good-bye and complement her on how well she did in the role. She's largely leaving because she has two daughters who are teenagers at home and didn't think, as a single mother, she should be away two or three days per week.

And for whatever reason, Jeremy Borash is leaving TNA iMPACT!

Much respect to Vickie - it can't have been easy for her to take on a TV role and to do all the things that she did.
