I voted by post last week, for my local Lib Dem candidate, as he's got the best of the snowball's chances in this Tory hell of beating current Shadow Home Secretary Chris Grayling, ( :fp: ) and because I support the Lib Dems in most policy areas anyway, and I'm not really into tactical voting.

As for local council, I went independent, as there really isn't a wealth of choice here, and the council needs a check on its conservative majority.

The amount of people on Facebook just going "I'll vote for anyone but the Conservatives", it's embarrassing. They don't even know what the Tories' main policies are, a lot of them are just doing it because that seems to be who's generally been most popular over the last couple of years.

I also got invited to a riot in London that would supposedly happen if the Conservatives got into power, over 6,000 already said they'd go. strawberry floating idiots.

Erm..anything to distinguish you from the other parties?

I think that's because the only thing a local mp is any good for is possibly lobbying the government on your behalf for some cause like, a new drug treatment, more funding for some sort of research. That's about it, they don't really do much else. Council elections will probably directly effect you more.

Labour for me.

Just coming out of a recession and Cameron would be a disaster for the economy, I simply can't afford them in charge.

I've read the Tories manifesto and would gladly say and encourage people to vote for anyone but the Tories.

How is it embarrassing? For many people the prospect of letting the Tories in is the worst thing that can happen. In my friends list there is only one person who I think would vote conservative, everyone else is vehemently opposed to them. There is a whole generation who remember the last Tory government and will do anything to prevent them getting in again.

As for not knowing what the Tories main policies are, I am not even sure they know what they are. David Cameron is very gifted in appearing to answer questions whilst just spouting out bullshit catchphrases. I mean what the strawberry float is "big society"? What does that mean? Nothing at all, it is a phrase he has had a good reaction to and has stuck with it. There is nothing to their policies, just hot air and soundbites.

Don't these people have anything better to be doing? What they going to do? Smash up some council offices? Fantastic idea...until you realise the general public (as in them...US) will have to pay for it. YOU SILLY banana splits.

Just voted. Labour won by 79 votes last time (Sittingbourne and Sheppey) but due to boundary changes since 2005 the conservatives would have won. We're now Labours No 1 target.

Some kids were outside the polling station guessing who you voted for.

Voted conservatives in the General and Conservatives in the Local as the Lib Dem candidate for my area was a tool and the Labour one who's been running the council for the past like 7 years is planning to build a ton of houses over a big playing field that's been in my area for donkeys years which will ruin the area even more.

Seriously, it's the only nice place left in our area, they also want to build houses over all the last little bits of green area around where I live, they can strawberry float off, if it wasn't for those green areas our strawberry floating town would be even more of a shithole than it already is.

Priorities.

Surely building new houses will create work, and opportunities for the area?
