Because it's one policy. The rest of their policies I agree with. If they were in a position, nationally, to make a difference I would have voted for their MP candidate too.

I don't get your point.

We should be protecting as much of the last little bit of green we have in Essex as it's the only nice thing about it.

As has been mentioned before, priorities. Is there a shortage of affordable houses for first time buyers in your area? If there is then houses are a priority. If people can't afford to buy in your area then they will move somewhere else. Companies looking to invest in your area will look elsewhere if they do not have access to a young workforce/market.

So the politician weighs up the pros and cons, a green space so people have somewhere for their dogs to gooseberry fool or some affordable housing for first time buyers?

There's no shortage of cheap housing in my area no. Without that big park we wouldn't have our Leisure Center which I never use and the woodland that's by there too, it's literally the only place to go if you want to go out anywhere.

I voted Labour in a safe Tory seat. I guess if we have a hung parliament, the overall percentage of vote may have some influence in who gets to govern. Not exactly the most thrilling reason to vote but its the only one I've got.

Let's be brutally honest here - it doesn't really matter if the local council disagrees with everything I stand for on a scientific front; it's not like they're going to stop me getting on the bus because my line of work is 'wrong'.

Nationally, however, as much as I agree with most of the Green policies I just couldn't have them strawberry float up the perfectly legitimate scientific methods we currently have just because they believe all animal testing is wrong, regardless of how well the animals treated and the medical impact such research could have.

I would've voted for Green if it weren't for some of their batshit ideas on testing/research.

So much good has come from animal testing, it would be so retarded to can it.

Carry on.

+1 for the Yellows. People keep telling me it's a wasted vote :fp: but if everyone thinks that then that's exactly what it becomes.

I doubt that my vote will make a difference in this election, but if people see the numbers go up each election, then they might decide that a vote for another party isn't wasted.

Scraping ID cards and the database state, a fairer voting system and the Digital Economy Bill are things that I would like to see changed.

Lib Dem here. Hopefully she'll keep her seat but the Tory had a well funded campaign (son of a very wealthy farming family who worked as secretary for Cameron).

He was outside my house being filmed earlier, very active campaigner it has to be said.

and that is the policy of the big two.. to talk people into never giving liberal a chance. I'd love electoral reform and genuine change in future.

hopefully as they increase their vote more and more will give them a chance and more will want reform.

Every farmer seems to support the Tories. Every road that I've been down with a field next to it, has had a bail of hay with a Conservative advert wrapped around it.

They seem to have the best funded campaign for sure.

I voted Lib Dems. I almost didn't when I saw the MP was this moron from my year at school's dad, but that wasn't enough.

If Private Eye's farming column is too be believed, farmers hate what Labour has done.

Surprisingly enough Lib Dem (Tory/Lib Dem marginal).

Our incumbent is a good chap - not much expsense fiddling, good attendence, I agree with pretty much all his votes.

I was torn - the biggest concern for me is getting Brown, Balls and Milliband as far away from office as possible. The safest way to do this seemed Tory.

But a) I like my MP and b) I decided I'd rather vote for something, than against something.

Hopefully we'll get a Tory/LibDem coalition - with Tory fiscali prudence, and LibDem's getting many many concessions.
