Rapidshare always downloads at like 1mb/s for me when it's going well. Pretty sure that's as fast as my connection can manage.

FAO: Mori/Anyone else who likes Cougar Town -

I'm trying to convice a friend to give Cougar Town a bash, but he wants me to link him to the best episodes. I've got Keeping Me Alive (The Truth or Penny Can one), then probably the one with the baby cage and the Hawaii double episode. Possibly the Halloween one too (where Busy and Jordan from Scrubs dress up as each other) :shifty: Can you think of any other great episodes?

I've never had anything close to 1MB/s from RapidShare. It truly is a last resort.

How many series do they have at the moment? Season 8 is currently airing across the pond.

It's been so long since season 2 I can't remember much. A lot of the funniest moments are throwaway scenes completely unrelated to the main plot (like Ellie making that Grayson remix) so it's difficult to recall what episodes they were in. I would recommend just skipping season 1 entirely though to be honest.

Funny how the first and (for a time at least) most prominent of the filesharing sites (rapidshare) is close to being the last man standing

Using torrents is like the difference between dealing drugs and buying drugs. With a torrent you are downloading and uploading, therefore sharing, which is what a lot of people get caught for. Downloading a file from a site like MU or FS is much safer.

Jus' sayin' with Usenet, you never upload, you download at 100% of your connection speed, 100% of the time, you don't wait 30 seconds to start downloading, you have greater levels of security than torrents or fileshare upload sites, files aren't removed, and because most people are unaware of them and unwilling to spend 5 minutes setting it all up, they tend to avoid the attention that torrent sites and file share sites attract from governments.

SO what's the cost of Usenet? I'm sure I saw someone say there was a monthly fee, then someone mentioned not paying on VirginMedia?

Usenet seems like the way. (Although I've torrented for years with no real issues) But it seems like the next step forward. Now to just have some money to subscribe.

Different newsgroup ISPs have different retention times. Virgin Media and BT both have usenet groups included with their internet charges, but both have short (7 day AFAIK) retention times. If you're after the latest stuff, that should be sufficient, otherwise you'll probably have to look elsewhere.

Virgin Media now has like 20 days retention. :D

Set up a server (Under "Setup" then "Servers")

news.virginmedia.com

Is free if you're on virgin. You can pay for some with longer retention if you want.

Download nbz's from here (Virgin only save 1 week (Now 3 weeks) worth of stuff on their group, so don't get anything older than 7 (21) days):

http://nzbmatrix.com/index.php

CONNECT. You'll get your line's maximum speed (or should do)

Virgin Media have 20 days retention. This means if the file has been uploaded to Usenet within the last 20 days, you can download it. If it's older than that you'll need to pay for a proper News Server.

http://www.astraweb.com/ is my favourite News Server because you can choose a PAYG option. A one off payment of £16/$25 will get you 180GB worth of downloads. That's a lot of shows considering an SD rip of a 45 minute show is usually around 0.35GB. I'd say I download quite heavily, but that lasts me ages.

To search for files you'll want to pay a one off cost of about £8 to become a VIP member for life at http://nzbmatrix.com/ which will allow you to download .NZB files that are as old as 1500 days.

Less than £25 for super fast speeds. Easily justified.
