Front page updated again. For those of you taking/that took laptops, did you buy an extra set of speakers to play music out of?

Depends how important you consider the sound quality and volume. I'd say its essential.

Enjoy Trefforest, but Ponty may come as a shock. The scenery is amazing though - if mountain rambles are your thing. Great for impromptu drug/booze-fuelled camping trips too.

I graduated a year ago but I still live there - I want to move to Cardiff when I can afford to.

I loved my time studying at Cardiff, I'd like to move back soon as possible.

Last year a friend of mine lived with me in Cardiff while commuting to study in Swansea - I'd be lying if I said I wasn't considering doing that in my second of third year at Swansea.

Yeah I did - at the end of the year. Wish I bought them at the start because listening to music is shite with my laptop's speakers.

I did take my stereo initially but putting in/out CD's soon begins to grate when I have all my music on my laptop.

Yeah, the meatier the speakers the better, it allows you to drown out some of the utter wank you hear getting played in student halls.

It'd have to be on a budget of course but I'll see what the funds are like after Fresher's week is done and go from there. I'll ask for recommendations closer to the time.

Would it be easier for everyone if the list on the first page was sorted by university rather than just a list of usernames?

Sorted. Not only is it more organised but it's also better looking. How's that for a slice of gold?

Good choice guys!
Civils have more fun, more career choice, do less tedious work and still get payed well and called engineers at the end of it. Plus we get to first make and then crush big slabs of concrete! I'm happy with my course. 8-)
