You should take the case off of the cart as well, that way it'd look like a motherboard with a graphics card inserted.
I took apart my N64 and SNES ages ago, with the intent of painting the cases, but they're still sitting in pieces around my room.

I really regret selling my SNES all those years ago. But although the SNES was technically better than the MD, the MD had the greater collection of games IMO.

The SNES had a great F1 game, F1 Exhaust Heat:

It was a cracking little racer! Much more fun than F-Zero...

I never really rated F-Zero anyway. From a technical standpoint it's impressive, obviously, but I never got much enjoyment playing it.

I didn't like it at first, but after playing it a bit I began to enjoy how tricky it is. It's pretty hard (for me at least) to stay first since every time you touch an opponent you slow down massively.

Then there was the cheat where if you kept alterating gears you could go really fast!

Now I've got to do the ice dungeon and I can never do that crystal switch puzzle so I always go to the next dungeon just to get that block-making cane...

My US SNES arrived today, very good piece of kit and very pleased with it. I also got Earthbound. I am mega happy, I finally own my proclaimed favourite game of all time. It is glorious.

On the one hand, I'm hugely jealous, it's probably in my top ten at least. On the other, I'm not sure I would have had the patience to finish it without the aid of save states on emulator.

I don't suppose you got the player's guide with the scratch and sniff cards did you? Somehow I have an inkling that would be rather tough to come by.

I might start saving soon so I can get my SNES modded for 60hz+imports. I've got a copy of Earthbound about that at some point desperately needs to get played :shifty:

If you don't mind me asking Exodist (sorry, I know this is something of a rude question), how much did Earthbound set you back? I got cart only for £40, I was relatively happy with that even if it was probably just at the limit of what I'd spend for a game like that.

£50 for just the cart. Compared to what is on now I found that perfectly reasonable, was American import. The only copies that ever come up on UK ebay are the full set which are like £300, and I don't have that much for it, favourite game or not. Cart is fine for me, and I was willing to go a bit higher. Lot on there are going for £80+ so I got off well I think.

@puppetboys, answers your question, only got the cart. A full boxed copy always seems to float around but they're really expensive. Also, I know what you mean, will be my first time playing it properly, gotta admit I'm guilty of save stating just before bosses.

I've got that - I don't rate it that much though. Too much faffing about with parts in the garage. I prefer more arcadey racers. I'd strongly disagree with your comment on the Megadrive having a better collection of games though.

Tonight I finally gave that copy of Legend Of The Mystical Ninja I bought years ago a proper go - and it's surprisingly good once you get used to it. At first I was put off by the sheer amount of enemies and their rapid respawn rate, but after I'd adjusted to the game mechanic and regained my dexterity I found it to be a pretty damn addictive game. I must have spent around 3 hours solid on it.
