I'm just pleased i was able to download some updates i stupidly deleted for AC:Brotherhood before the hack..so was unable to play my saved game for about 4 weeks! :)

Also, the two free games we're getting better be once you download them, you keep them..and no bloody expiry date. At the end of the day we were nearly 2 months without a service which even though free, we purchased the console for.

Not all of them do. Magic the Gathering is currently free and yours for keeps.

Wrong. Burnout Paradise is yours to keep forever, as is the Magic: The Gathering game.

Magic: The Gathering Duels of the Planewalkers is also free, everyone download it once you get your 30 day Playstation Plus subscription.

Before anyone attempts to claim it's only free while you subscribe to Playstation Plus, it's not tied to any Playstation Plus subscription. A quick check of the information bar upon completion of download and install will confirm this. In simple terms, whereas other titles have an expiry date, Magic: The Gathering has no such expiry date.

Given the volume of traffic on the store today, isn't it sensible that they weren't giving people the chance to download the free games?

I applaud Sony for doing things properly.

I know more often than not cg you post 'in character' but what does this even mean?

Hugo is right enough - if it is a 'Welcome Back' promotion it should have been live when the store went back on, or should have at least been advertised as coming soon. Delaying won't make any difference to the reliability of the service when they flick the switch for it as we all love free stuff and it'll get hammered.

Not that I am overly bothered - I'm quite happy to wait for free goodies - but the way they've done it is a bit backwards.

It's not, it has an expiry date unlike Magic: The Gathering.

Good stuff. I am going to need a larger HDD after downloading all this free stuff.

Having read the comments on the PS Blog from the official people, thats not how I read it. Seems to me like they are saying all Full Games will expire.

Like their network security.

It shouldn't. They're both marked as 100% discount and £0.00 in the Store.

I'll check again and report back as I'm almost 100% certain it did have an expiry date.

Just edited my above post with quote from the Playstation Blog person who puts up PS+ stuff, says the Full Games are only available for the 30 days you are a PS+ member if you don't pay for more.

No. Select full titles available through Playstation Plus are 100% free. Stacking was one such title, Magic: The Gathering and possibly Burnout Paradise are others.

He says in the very same sentence that anything discounted is yours forever.

EDIT: Wait, I can see why the format of his post is confusing. He has the 100% off games in the wrong section.

What I'm saying is that that Playsation Blog guy has said, these games are not that. They will expire when your PS+ sub runs out.

Could he have got it wrong? Of course he could. But thats what he said.

Look at the posted list though. The games aren't in the discounted secton.

Is it not just possible that they've changed how they are doing this now.

No, because the other games I just downloaded have expiry dates.

They might well have messed it up, I don't think they meant to give those games away for free forever to everyone. Otherwise they would have been shouting about it.

Wouldn't surprise me if its changed before the Welcome Back package is available if that is the case.
