I really want to style my moustache like Charles Bronson's but don't want to screw it up.

Charles Bronson.

Can't sleep. Don't you think we got the employment to leisure ratio all wrong? Well unless you're elbo/nood.

I somehow slept for 12 hours today, I wasn't even tired last night! :fp:

Now tomorrow I'm going to have to wake up early, which means I will probably sleep very badly tonight. :(

True that.

Rightey, I got twelve hours last night, and now I can't sleep and I'm working in less than seven hours. :x

Another job interview tomorrow, but I think I've already screwed myself over, he wrote me 2 days ago telling me the date but I never wrote back to tell him that it was ok. I just thought, well he's the boss, he probably expects that when he says something if he doesn't hear word back everything is going ahead as planned. But then I just noticed he sent me another email today, so this time I responded. :fp:

Right had that interview, three people bascially went over every single thing I brought in asking me a million questions when really they only needed to ask three.

1) What is your name?
2) Can you spell it?
3) Can you type it?

It's an unpaid job for data entry, not something to become their CEO. :fp:

Although I do think it was good practice for the real internship that I want, which I will hopefully have an interview for later next week.

One of the guys interviewing me kept on sending messages on his blackberry though, how rude. :x

Just dusting off my personal statement for the JET Programme. Dunno why I am bothering though. I have been strawberry floated about by the uni medical centre and I don't have a form I need off them yet. I'm going to have to get a bloody train to London tommorow, go to the Japanese Embassy, give in my application, then bugger off back to Norwich. What's worse is that if I don't have that form by 2pm tommorow, I won't have time to get to the Embassy on time.

I wish I'd seen this sooner mate

You don't need the form if you call them! They can either set an alternate deadline for it (like they did for me) or say forget about it all together (like they did with a friend who had no medical issues in the last 5 years). I didn't want to have to call them but in the end I was left with no choice because my GP receptionist is a strawberry floating banana split. "That will take one week and cost £10 sir". It's a strawberry floating signature :| The strawberry floating doctor is in the next strawberry floating room :|

Anyway the deadline is in 5 hours so I hope you got everything sorted. Seriously though, there's still time to get down to London (give them a bell on the way to arrange an alternative deadline for that one form) if you see this in the next hour or so. What areas are you applying for?

I know it's midday guys

You do realise Pacman, I will end your life before you even find out if you got in or not?

I'll then wear your skin and take over your life. Nobody will know. :shifty:

So after last night, I got my housemates to look at my personal statement. They made a few suggestions so I rewrote it and finally went to bed at 6am. Woke up at 11, had a shower and walked onto campus. Suprisingly got the medical form at 1pm and then spent the next 40 mins printing and photocopying all the other stuff. From there everything that could go wrong did. The bus took ages to get to the station. I missed the train I wanted because only one ticket machine was working. The train was delayed due to another train running late as well so I ended up getting into London at 17:10 pm, in the middle of bloody rush hour on Friday.

I had planned to take the Central line but a train had apparantly broken down at Stratford so there was a massive delay and queue. At this point I started to panic a little bit and tried to find a map and work out a different route to Green Park. Initially thought of going to Baker Street and just hoping that the Metro line was not busy. A quick check of the map again told me it would better to risk getting off at St. Pancras and taking the Victoria line instead. Was getting more and more busy but it was all moving pretty quickly still. I could tell it was going to be bloody close. I got out of Green Park at about 17:50 and started to walk bloody fast down the road. Saw the Japanese flags in the distance, eventually reached the door, gave the security guy my envelope at 17:57, three minutes before the deadline.

strawberry floating GET IN THERE

Oh and I applied to go to either Akita or Hokkaido. I would prefer Hokkaido but I reckon it would be easier to do a bit of travelling if I was in Akita, what with the Shinkansen being available.

Well I got that job that I interviewed for yesterday. :x

They said they'd take a week or two to get back to me, so I had to write them an email telling them that I can't accept yet because I'm waiting for an interview from someone else. :fp:

Probably not the best thing to be saying to a potential employer but it's volunteer so whatever.

StayDead I'm flattered you prefer my skin to Andre's  But you can't be an English teacher until you know the difference between "should of" and "should have" ;)

I reckon when we get accepted everyone is going to have a great "last minute application" story, but that's gotta be one of the best  mine would have arrived a whole five hours before the deadline thanks to Royal Mail's 'next day before 1pm' delivery service.

I'll be in Hyogo or Osaka hopefully, nice and warm  See you at the JET Conferences!
