I was going to, but simply ran out of time.

I only really got round to Tragic, Corazon, Wallace, Jay and Call and Answer.

And Call and Answer was only undone as I just couldn't see the physics of it working.

I am surprised more people didn't as it did work. I only changed my verdict on some of them because of the set number of truths and lies on each team.

I must admit, I thought denster's just sounded like it was written by DML...

I would never have believed Denny's had StayDead not remembered it had happened. I think it could've gone eitherway. I was begging to be questioned.

Dummy found yours out by the way. I was just questioning you for the fun of it as well, just out of curiosity.

Then you tried to swerve me by telling it was Birmingham City, presumably to taunt me into researching it.

Did anyone search my post history? To my shock, I mentioned loving Lylat Wars quite a lot, and also playing it in 1997. I changed these, but it was maybe too late.

I also deliberately got my facts wrong in the thread. When Frank asked me to elaborate, I said it happened in 1998 and hoped someone would pick up on that.

Did anyone?

The Birmingham thing was supposed to throw a lot of people. How did Drummy find out, by the way?

Lylat Wars totally threw me as I'd never heard of it- then when I found out it's known under a much more well known, I had to figure that DML wouldn't do that, so it was true.

Well, Lylat Wars is its PAL name, and I would imagine most people here would call it that, including Lizzy.

Indeed, the topic in Retro Gaming calls it that. Though on the 3DS it is back to being called Starfox.

Can't believe you have never heard of it. You should be thrown out of the competition just for that.

Not the name. I have always known it as Star Fox 64.

I'm guessing you had an NTSC N64, if you had one? Lylat Wars was the PAL name and what I've always known the game as.

I would have liked to have seen this. For a supposed Games Guru contest, there's been very few opportunities to prove it. :?

yeah, I searched everyone's post histories. I thought your statement was false because you seem to talk about 1997 and your love for the N64 a lot. And how you got one at Xmas as a surprise so you parents did something similar the next year. Couldn't imagine your parents doing something similar if an N64 almost killed you. And I also couldn't imagine you bumming 1997 and the N64 so hard if they really had tried to kill you off.

WHOOOOOOOOOOO!

Riding my team's coat-tails all the way to victory! Thanks to Team Dev for dragging my terrible performance along to the final. Unfortunately, I'll be discarding you now that you've served your purpose.

Don't worry if you can't get it up until tomorrow or something. There's not been a rest day yet. :shifty:

TASK 4 - 'SCRAMBLE II - THIS TIME ITS PERSONAL'

From now on the nicey-nicey feel of the contest has to end. In the next three tasks will decide which of you remaining twelve is a GGGC Finalist, and which of you will fall by the wayside. We are now looking for people who have the calibre to take on a Grand Final - and the tasks have been tailored as such.

The of the toughest tasks in GGGC History returns to try and chomp you down and spit you out. Its a really simple game, below are 16 close-ups of video game characters - and you simply have to NAME them. However, the Games Guru Halls painter has been at work on the screenshots just to make it that touch more difficult. You will have to use your wide gaming knowledge to work out who is hidden in the grid.

The grid is below...

Image

You have until 9.30pm on TUESDAY to get your answers in to me. The NINE players with the highest score will go through to Task 5 - the lowest three will go out.

 You MAY use Google for this challenge - but you must NOT discuss or swap answers with other players. Former team-mates are also not to help along with anyone else on the forum. Going and trying to get answers online from other parties will obviously result in an instant disqualification (yes Tragic - I'm looking at you) and the answers must be purely your own.

 You get 1 mark for each correct answer, but will LOSE a mark for an incorrect answer. You have been warned!

 In the result of a tie, the players who have already got through will decide who joins them in the final nine.

 Oh....and I would suggest you be VERY careful. Bit of cat advice for you there. :3

Good luck everyone - may the best nine win.

*DML OUT*
