I can't believe that my team are being penalised while the other teams get away with it. What a fix.

Ok - I am going to try and be as fair as possible on this one, but I have been put in a tricky situation.

Both Denster and Suzzopher have been in contact regards their punishments. Suzzopher has now submitted his piece saying outside circumstances which were outside his control. Whilst I sympathise and these issues should definitely take precedence over a forum game of all things, as the judge OF the forum game - I had no real contact until now, and to all extensive purposes it has looked like Suzz had gone AWOL, and because players have already started marking the anonymous entries, I cannot put in his entry and it be anonymous, plus I cannot ask for everyone to remark. For that reason, unfortunately on this occassion, I will have to stick to my ruling. I will post up his entry later though so you can all still enjoy it. #teammysterio can still take a decision on his team membership of course.

As for Denster, his entry did come in before I posted them, his reasons are very good for not posting it on time, and it was obvious Denster was trying to keep me in the loop. I still have to punish him - purely because he did miss the deadline, and others didnt - however given the extreme circumstances - I shall reduce this to 10% having not yet looked at any of the votes.

On these issues I hope I am making the right judgement call. Sorry for those who do end up feeling aggrieved by the situation, but there are two more rounds to make up the difference.

Suzz's entry

You know what really grinds my gears? Sony Computer Entertainment Europe’s PlayStation Store team! Where do you get off being so utterly useless?

Since the PS3 launched in 2007, European PlayStation fans have been consistently let down by the PlayStation Store team. Lacklustre update after lacklustre update followed by mistakes after mistakes, have left me feeling utterly frustrated.

In America, they have had a steady stream of PlayStation classics released over the last five years, in Europe we are lagging behind by nearly 100 titles, ONE HUNDRED titles. How is this even possible? Sure SCEE will blame licensing etc, but in America Sony themselves published the PlayStation classics. This means they go out and get the publishers and actively seek titles to add to the service. In Europe if want the games, we have to pester the games original publisher ourselves(that is actually the official line from which ever monkey they have doing the blog updates).

Another thing that the Americans do right is, they announce the games that will be released ahead of the store update, usually on a Sunday in a blog post called “The Drop”. Us Europeans have to wait until around 1pm on a Wednesday to hear how we compare to the American releases 24 hours earlier. Why? I have asked via email and via the blog posts if we could have the releases announced earlier, but I have not had any response.

I am for my sins a PlayStation Plus subscriber(shut up, it’s better value than XBL Gold), in Europe this means once a month we get a few free games and some heavy discounts as well as discounts on new releases. The service is great to be honest, but in America it’s even bloody better! They firs of all have a larger selection of PSone classics to choose from for free games, but they get updates EVERY week of the month. Again, when people have asked about this on the blog, it’s met with silence.

On XBLA, you can expect games to be released the same day in America and Europe, you would expect the same on PSN right? WRONG!(Spacey.gif) Sometimes games will fail QA submissions in Europe that will cause the release to be delayed(we are still waiting for Trine 2, which came out in America on PSN the day before XBLA), now either the games released in America and XBLA are bug riddled messes or the most likely thing, Sony’s process in Europe is rather strict.

So, in conclusion Sony Computer Entertainment America = Good, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe = Bad!

Good night everyone!

It's amusing that the teams that went "RARR, WE'RE THE BEST" have been the teams who have suffered penalties.

Thats fine - I assumed as much. It was unfortunate - but where guys had already started marking - it really was an impossible situation for me to suddenly include him. :(

What's not amusing is the reasoning behind late submissions. Think before you post.

Submitted my scores earlier.

It was a close one but all the entries were of a high quality. There were a couple that really stood out amongst the crowd but everyone has done brilliantly. So massive applause for everyone. Can't wait to see how things turn out. GG lads, GG.
