I'd dug an old PS1 game out of storage, a task that hadn't been easy given where the gubbins was stored, to play on my PS3. Despite some gentle polishing and liberal application of "game cleaning breath", the disk refused to load. Given the effort I had gone to in order to dig the damn thing out, I slightly lost my temper. Small room, close wall, boing, bruise under my right eye for three days. Controller survived, miraculously.

Given the psychics involved, wouldn't you have to be standing very close to the wall in order for it to hit you? I can't imagine a controller bouncing that far you see. I would test it on one of my own but...

Which PSOne game was it? When did you buy you PS3?

Two things combined; I have a very small room (I was probably sat about a metre from the wall), and I didn't throw the controller horizontally. It was more of a "strawberry float this, I'm done" motion, so it went up, bounced off the wall, then hit me as it fell.

The game was Guardian's Crusade (nothing special, but it stuck in my mind. My avatar is a fan-art depiction of the support character). I didn't buy the PS3, it was a gift from a friend, probably around this time 2010? The Yakuza 3 demo was the very first thing I played on it, that came out late Feb.

It is. And it's currently sat on an upturned washing bowl.

But the slimline PS3 is not backwards compatible with PSOne games.

I can take a picture of it running a PS1 game if you'd like?

Aye, and any other bills. And how much your missus brings home each month. ;)

Nah... err... how many games have you bought this month so far. And which ones?

This month is Vita month so lots! Probably about 9.

Trying to cut down. :fp:

No, no, I know that they do. I was just wondering if you knew they did.

Prosecution rests, your honour.

Do you not still own the old playstation console then?

EDIT - A nice photo of the game in question running would be nice, mind... not sure what DML allows as far as proof though.

I do, but I'll be buggered with a fish fork if I know where it is. And I'd love to do that, but the reason I actually threw the controller is that I couldn't get the damn thing to start. So y'know :D

It's not that bad if you buy them in a sale.

That makes it a bit better if you buy them at a discount price.

I know you probably can't give me an exact figure, but roughly on average, what is the price you pay for a game?

Before I moved out, I'd buy most of my games on release for full asking price. When I moved out, I created a "buy when cheap" list, many of which I end up forgetting about and never buying but still bought the odd game on release for full price. And then others, I'd buy around that £20 mark. Trying not to buy anything on release any more though (Vita, doh!), getting close to saving enough for a mortgage so I wanna try and boost my savings nicely this year.

How much do you spend per annum then on games?

You just have some figures in your head in order to come to the sum of 17 games per month.

What sum did you do?

It's just an average so: number of games purchased, divided by, number of months.

You know how exactly how many games you have bought since 2007?

What date do you start count from in 2007? And do you include January and February of this year?

You're loving this task, aren't you?

I didn't really buy many games for myself before I got a job so I just counted up how many I have now on my shelves and rounded it to the nearest hundred.

I think it could be a forum game in its own right! I should probably think about becoming a lawyer.

But still... hit me with those figures, criminal scum.

Which way round did you do it for your fact?

Did you think "I have bought 816 games since 2007" and then work backwards by dividing it by the number of months.

Or did you do it by thinking of an average number of games per month and then multiplying it by the time?

It is such a shame that I will be at work tomorrow, when all the other victims... I mean suspects... I mean competitors... come online.

I've been pondering over my answers for hours now. Blue Team are easily the hardest, I've picked 3 truths and 3 lies each for the other teams but I think I'm gonna have to guess unevenly for blue team as I really can't decide which are the 3 lies and which are the 3 truths. I know if I guess half and half I'll just end up getting them all wrong for blue team. Feel a bit disappointed because I'm sure I've guessed really accurately for the other 2 teams, it's just blue are strawberry floating me over. Do I risk it and try to get all the blue's right or take a plunge and go one way with my answers? It's strawberry floating hard to decide. Could potentially score no points at all for the blue team answers. Hard!
