From now on the nicey-nicey feel of the contest has to end. In the next three tasks will decide which of you remaining twelve is a GGGC Finalist, and which of you will fall by the wayside. We are now looking for people who have the calibre to take on a Grand Final - and the tasks have been tailored as such.

The of the toughest tasks in GGGC History returns to try and chomp you down and spit you out. Its a really simple game, below are 16 close-ups of video game characters - and you simply have to NAME them. However, the Games Guru Halls painter has been at work on the screenshots just to make it that touch more difficult. You will have to use your wide gaming knowledge to work out who is hidden in the grid.

The grid is below...

Image

You have until 9.30pm on TUESDAY to get your answers in to me. The NINE players with the highest score will go through to Task 5 - the lowest three will go out.

 You MAY use Google for this challenge - but you must NOT discuss or swap answers with other players. Former team-mates are also not to help along with anyone else on the forum. Going and trying to get answers online from other parties will obviously result in an instant disqualification (yes Tragic - I'm looking at you) and the answers must be purely your own.

 You get 1 mark for each correct answer, but will LOSE a mark for an incorrect answer. You have been warned!

 In the result of a tie, the players who have already got through will decide who joins them in the final nine.

 Oh....and I would suggest you be VERY careful. Bit of cat advice for you there. :3

Good luck everyone - may the best nine win.

Right, now to go and post this image on another forum to get answers

No but seriously, I love this kind of task. Looks extremely hard though this does and losing a point for wrong answers is a bit of a scary twist.

Ah, I do like these types of challenges.

Shame, really, as if I'd progressed, I would have my duff tasks out of the way (namely, the writing one but, to a lesser extent, the flash games) and would been UNSTOPPABLE.

Maybe.

EDIT - We losers can still post in here right, as long as we don't say any answers or nuffin'.

As I have said before - you are only against EACH OTHER, so it doesnt matter how hard or easy grid is - everyone has to simply beat the other guys - not the grid itself.

Yeah, I can see feeding number 10 into Google will yield some... "interesting" results.

I am fairly sure the last couple of these have had that twist.

You should be man enough to cope now, Tragic. Step up to the plate, grasp the nettle, put those pictures into Google!!!

I think I know 6 off the top of my head, with a few others that I could research via Google with some inklings.

If anyone wants to buy my answers, and be a Puppet Guru for me, whilst I hide in the shadows and be the real Master, then please let me know.

Some, like 2 and 8, are just too blurry and painty to be able to figure out, mind.

2 is the only one I know. Some of them I have inklings but looking at Google just brings up nothing and I begin to feel useless.

This kind of task is so painful for the mind. It's like when you can't quite remember something but you know it's in the back of your mind somewhere and you're trying frantically to remember. Just have an idea for one pop into my head out of nowhere and it was right. Makes my brain hurt trying to fish the deepest memories out.
