Okay, my bad. Think I was confusing it with the water polo and JKs monster comeback and defence for the draw. Seeing the ball inch to my goal as all four of us converged on it as the game ended was :x but

Glad you guys did it, gonna do the maths and the Brum this afternoon.

Also, what's this about removing weight? I did my challenge time without tinkering with the vehicle :o

Yeah, i'm not sure how you'd remove weight either. I stuck the extra engine at the start in though.

I didn't remove any weight in this challenge, as Roon said it takes too much time for how long this challenge is and there's not much you can take off. But it is very useful in certain challenges such as the one in the Jiggoseum where you deliver pizzas, you can take off the big sign on the vehicle. To do it all you do is jump out of the vehicle and then press B and then you can remove and move pieces.

It also gives some genius ways to solve some of the challenges for example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UjEQtoeuEUI

All I did on the challenge was get the extra engine from the Mumbo crate next to the start and go for it.

Although I don't think my time was very good in the end.

Challenge Challenge week 2

Tick, Tick, Boom!

This was a straight forward challenge, mainly because LOG was in charge of your mode of transport. The idea was to get the bomb in the car and drive through the Volcano and up to Bottles as fast as you could!

1 – Bandwagon - 28.91 (also placing him 24th on the leaderboard!)
2 – Dalagonash - 29.31
3 – Mokeyjoe - 29.60
4 – Roonmastor - 30.62
5 – JK - 31.99
6 – T9Flake - 37.20
7 – StayDead - 37.81
8 – Seven - 38.25

First place is awarded ten points, second 9, third 8, and so on.

The pro way –

Watching the top players it appears there is a sneakily concealed engine in the box to your left! Speedy controller manhandling could see you keep on the move whilst attaching the secret motor which helped exponentially for the final hill climb towards the goal.

Replica Challenge 1 results

Well the results are in, and it seems that the Dalorean with most hope of sending us back to the future is Mokey's creation, according to GRcadians.

Image

When we tried to catch up with Mokey earlier for comment this was the scene at his place.

Image

So, those standings in full -

1 - Mokeyjoe - 33 votes (!)
2 - Dalagonash - 10 votes
3 - T9Flake - 8 votes
4 - Roonmastor - 6 votes
5 - JK - 4 votes
6 - Bandwagon/StayDead - 2 votes.

The Delorean proved a big challenge, the intricate nature of the vehicles design meant a Banjo Kazooie version was a tricky thing to do, with the big chunky approach allowing for more detail and thus more accuracy.

A common feature amongst the entries were flame jets positioned under the car to produce the famous flaming effect as seen in the films.

And for your perusal, here is a fellow BK engineer's approach to the icon time travelling machine.

WEEK 3

Replica

The S.S. Banjormandy

Image

There's a game making quite a stir on the 360 at the moment, something about Mass Erections? I dunno, all I can tell you is that Banjo is going to need his own spaceship if he's going to keep pace. Normandy 1 or 2, doesn't matter which (there are slight design alterations, Normandy 1 is pictured), all you need to do is get building.

Deadline – Blueprints to be sent to me by Thursday 11th at 7pm, please include your name in the title. Voting thread will appear on Friday in GGC

Challenge challenge

Banjoland, Act 6, Challenge 2 - Home Improvements: Igloo Edition.

Time for some stress relief, arctic style, as you're tasked with bulldozing an old igloo in the fastest time possible.

Deadline – Times will be checked on Thursday 11th at 6pm, make sure Dalagonash is your friend on Live!

Mad Cap Multiplayer

Next week’s confirmed race is Pool Prix and the sport is Freewheeler! For this race you’ll need a swift naval vehicle, but some shielding wouldn't go amiss as in this tight course a lot of weapons may be connecting. Freewheeler is a more intriguing concept, after the initial push it's up to you to veer Banjo away from obstacles without any engines whatsoever, a little practise is advised as the level is large and some routes will lead to immediate failure. These will be followed by two random sports and two random random races with LOG’s choice of vehicles.

Be there, 7:30, next Thursday.

I have equal or more points than JK in every league apart from the overall league. Does. Not. Compute.

I'll have those ten missing points please  I'll only lose them again as I have no effing clue what tricks his model ought to be able to do as I've never played Mass Effect. And bitches love tricks.

I've never played Mass Effect either. I just see that and see wipeout so I'm going to make something really really fast.

I see an Arwing. I'm going to give it an All Range Mode.

Edit: Also, I don't think I've even opened up Banjoland Act 6

Chalk up another person who hasn't played Mass Effect.

I'm too busy designing vehicles that look like characters in CBBC programmes to play cool games!

Sorry for the maths error Roon, fixed now.

All you people who haven't played Mass Effect  Of course don't go playing it now, there's Banjo to practise for.

It's gooseberry fool anyway.

I was wondering if the normandy would crop up as a design challenge.

Mass Effect sounds like the kind of game I'd love to play. But haven't seen the original kicking around anywhere for a couple of quid and I'm not made of money.

I made my Normandy thing last night.

I'm quite proud of it, particularly since I've never played the game. It flies in such a stately and elegant manner, not unlike a spaceship. And it has lasers.

This igloo challenge is driving me mad though. I tried it a couple of times last night and I always ended up with a single piece of it floating in mid-air. Bah.

I'm having similar issues with the igloo

No sooner is that said as I've got a solid time. Have ideas of how to improve but at least I've got something to work on improving.
