I support Preston North End which is the exact opposite.

I hope you give them a damn good thrashing.

As long as it doesn't rule out all players over that age range. But if a player does cost a bomb, is over 26 but has a hand in winning a load of trophies... should the sell on price matter? I hope we sign someone akin to Sheringham, you know, someone who's a proven goal scorer in the league but won't cost a bomb and won't piss and moan if he isn't played every game.

We will. Don't worry. Rory Delap will score a hat trick.

Leeds v Yeovil is October 31st, Yeovil v Leeds is April 5th.

Most of the rest of the fixture lists is irrelevant.

Yeovil start at home to Tranmere, and finish the season at Brighton (Russell Slade's Bummers Army). RELEGATING THEM strawberry floats WOULD BE THE GREATEST DAY OF ALL TIMES.

Need to have a proper gander at it all later though and work out which Leeds games I'll deffo get to this season.

From the tidbits of fixtures I'm seeing on SSN, we've got a bastard of a season in terms of clumping together big four clashes :|

After my initial joke comment about Ferguson signing Owen, I have decided its actually a sensible idea. If we look at what he did with old Henrik who was pretty much retired, you have to think he can probably get Owen scoring again. He is free, he wont cost much and give him the chance to play Champions League football in the North and he will snap your arm off. It has to be worth a gamble.

Tottenham away is a tough enough start to the season, it'll be a bit wierd to see Liverpool start their season on a Sunday as well.

Spinny can you put me down as a Liverpool supporter?

If the title is close again this year, with the same top 3, there are a few fixtures that stand out towards the business end of the season.

March 20th Man U v Liverpool
April 3rd Man U v Chelsea

and on the penultimate weekend:

May 1st Liverpool v Chelsea

Arsenal's last game against the top 3 is on Feb 9th, although the play Villa away, Man U at home, Chelsea away and Liverpool at home in a somewhat tricky four game spell to get to that date.

Would be a good replacement for Tevez, not like for like in everything they do, but I can see Owen getting important goals like Tevez did...

I wouldn't touch either of them, but wouldn't Ruud VN be a better bet in the ageing goal scorer on the cheap stakes.

I wonder if I can odds of Chelsea being top of the league on September 13th. The fixture computer has had a bit of a special moment. Our first 5 fixtures:

Saturday, 15 August 2009
Chelsea v Hull, 15:00

Tuesday, 18 August 2009
Sunderland v Chelsea, 19:45

Saturday, 22 August 2009
Fulham v Chelsea, 15:00

Saturday, 29 August 2009
Chelsea v Burnley, 15:00

Saturday, 12 September 2009
Stoke v Chelsea, 15:00

Two yoyos and 2 relegation hopefuls in the first 5. Unless Hull start like last year...
