Up the Hammers! Hopefully we can push on this season. I don't know if there is any money to spend but If Upson leaves we need another defender as it will mean our center backs will be Davenport, Gabbidon, Tompkins and Collins only Tompkins is good enough for where we should be aiming and his still young, needs experience next to him. If the youngsters continue to improve I think we can perhaps clinch europe. I hope Zola doesn't bring in a huge influx of foriengers though, we have a very british core at the moment and the team seems to gel together really well. Not to keen on Jiminez and Mancini coming in on loan. I think we need a central defender, a winger and a pacey striker.

At the moment this is how I'd expect the first team to look:

Green
Spector Collins Tompkins Ilunga

Behrami Noble Parker Collison

Cole Ashton

Very narrow in midfield, Stanilas can provide width but I think he needs more time before he becomes a first teamer, Ideally if we sign a wide man Behrami can player RB and then we have two good attacking fullbacks to provide lots of width so Collison can cut inside which he is excellent at doing. Defiantly need a good CB and Ashton is guaranteed to get injured so a pacy striker next to Cole is needed, Tristan and Di Micahelle have thankfully left but we are now short of strikers, hopefully Sears will step up a bit next season.

We have to aim for europe and not get stuck in the mid table rut.

Who cares...

I'm gutted about Mowbray leaving the baggies. The thing always was that given a bit of money he would have built an absolutely monstrous squad. As it is, our chairman never loosens those purse strings any more than he needs to. This is great in a sense, as it means we always have enough to survive relegation. This is ****, however, has it almost always means relegation is inevitable. Given that bit more quality up front to do justice to the mid-field and we would have been alight last year. That's gone now anyway. This year will be tough down in the second tier, and I think our boinging days up and down the Premier may be gone. No idea who is in mind for the mangers job now, either.

You could just appoint a manager who has never been relegated in his career.

8-)

And I always thought it was your defence that what led you to relegation.

EDIT: Can you imagine the uproar if England only managed to beat Iran by one goal?

Do you often contemplate the complexity of life?

I think with Neill leaving we need a RB, as Spector just isn't good enough, he looks completely clueless half the time when he plays. If someone offers £10-12 million for Upson I'd take it considering he's 30, though we do need a new CB as as much as I love Tomkins and Collins, we'll really only have Gabbidon as back up, if he's fit, especially as Davenport will hopefully be off. I agree we need a new striker, as we'll only have Cole, Deano and Savio, with Sears heading off on loan, we also need a creative player, though where they'd fit into our midfield I don't no, as that's the one area we have enough players to cope.

Anyway the start for our season is a bit iffy, 4 away games out of the first 6 and the 2 home ones being Spurs and the Scousers, Wolves away at the start will be tricky to as they'll want to get off to a flyer in their first season back.

Also I'm looking forward to January 30th Norwich v Hartlepool, I get to see the Monkey 'Angers for the first time in ages now that Norwich are relegated, also getting to go St James to see Newcastle v Palace with some mates who are Palace fans, can't wait for the new season already.

Forgot about Savio, hopefully he gets a consistant run of full games under his belt. Could work well playing in behind Cole. Neill is guaranteed to leave after rejecting the last contract offer, I don't think we have a problem at RB, Behrami is good there and if we sign he good winger he will lose his place there so he would be the perfect fit with Spector as back up.

Who cares...

When Behrami played there at the start of last year he looked really uncomfortable, yet when he was moved into midfield he was a revelation, probably would have been close to player of the year if it weren't for his injury. We also have Dyer, Boa Morte (who was a different player last year) and Stanislas to offer width, if Dyer is fit and we don't sell him I think he could be a crucial player for us next year. Savio does need a run of games though, he also seemed a bit lightweight last year, though I think he'll be fine.

Yep, keep him, he's bloody awful, almost as bad as Garry Breen, who you also got off of us, no wonder you've struggled for years you keep buying our old defence! Though I'd have Linda back in an instance, he was so awesome

This South Africa - New Zealand game's going to be a 10 goal thriller. You read it here first.

Real Madrid joins Manchester United and Chelsea to go after Frank Ribery.

Their offer is £40m cash with Wesley Sneijder and Rafael van der Vaart. It's excellent deal if Bayern Munich goes for it! :o

I'm sure we played Spurs away in Rafa's first league game in charge. It finished 1-1, Cisse scored before Defoe leveled in the 2nd half. We always seem to play Villa early on too. :|

We certainly have options out wide, Boa Morte was very good last season and Stanislas looks like he could be a great player in the future but we need that extra bit of quality ro take us to the next level, if we don't buy then Dyer could have a big role either out wide or of the front man if we stay short of strikers. I think he is a big gamble though.

We'd get relegated with that back four.

Breen was an abortion, although he did captain us to the Championship title in 2005.

These horns that the South Africans are constantly blowing is among the most irritating things I've ever heard.

The world cup is gonna be a strawberry floating nightmare to watch.

You're right.

The same season we started with Arsenal at home, like now, and it was the season we finished 4th so here's hoping.
