Wouldn't say no to him even though I would prefer Benzema. I hope Ronaldo finishes his move so we can actually start to spend the cash.

Aguero is awesome, but it's another second striker. I want Benzema to sign so we can bring out the old Cantona chants again...

I've just been looking at the Premiership table. Very tight at the moment with City in mid-table. There is a long way to go yet and plenty of time to pick up points. I've worked it out that exactly 0 points seperate the Champion's league places from the relegation dogfight.

We're above United though and I can't see them catching us in the coming month or so.

Wowzer £17m on G.Johnson is well over the odds don't you guys think? Great going forward but he is just one of those players that you feel has a mistake in him

By signing a third-choice keeper from another club to act as second choice for themselves?

When was the last time an England player didn't move for a vastly over-inflated fee?

Itandje is bloody awful though. He wasn't even getting game for the reserves last season.

I agree that it's a lot of money, but at the start of the off-season he was one of the players I really wanted us to sign, at the time £15m was being quoted, since then he's had a blistering couple of performances for England and interest from two of the richest clubs in the world so it's not surprising the fee has inflated a bit.

English players always have inflated prices especially since he's had a great season and is now first choice right back for England. If you find a right back with similar quality to Johnson in Europe he would probably cost half of the Johnson price.

Case in point - We're selling Arbeloa for £8m

In fairness Arbeloa only has a year left on his contract so his price would obviously be affected by that. Its still as much as Liverpool got for Owen in the same situation though.

having read more into the Johnson transfer - Liverpool aren't actually paying £17m .. a large majority is said to be writing off the debt that Pompey owe Pool from buying Crouch!

Mostly Sympathy For Setanta Staff
I'd just like to comment on Setanta going into administration. Firstly, let us offer our sympathy to 199 of the 200 members of staff who have been made redundant by their bankruptcy. Secondly, let us console ourselves by remembering that the other one is Craig Burley.

This is almost like a logical puzzle, some people I've been on talking to seem to think Liverpool are saving money. Portsmouth paid 11m for Crouch and Liverpool paid 17m for Johnson. If Portsmouth only paid 4m for Crouch, Liverpool paid 10m for Johnson.

Sorry if this is obvious to most of you, just worth pointing out. I like a bit o' logic, me.

I did this by severing my real arms and replacing them with super-human cyborg arms.
