I think it's quite similar to supporting a club, and then being told by someone who doesn't support them what's happening with them. Which happens quite often on here.

You still can't get a true perspective though. Even in your own street, one person may think it's a shithole and crime is rife whilst another person may think it is lovely.

I've based my argument on what I've ACTUALLY SEEN and experienced so I think I'd have a better idea than someone who is being paid to sell newspapers. Throughout this discussion, no one's provided a link to any evidence that they are claiming to be true. If you've got a point to make then please back it up and I'll be the first to admit that I'm wrong.

So far, I've claimed that few people are likely to be shot as they'll be in touristy areas which will be heavily policed. If they go in to rural areas then, unless they are visiting with a tour group, the chances of something happening to them are higher but still the same as anywhere else. As long as they're sensible and don't go flashing the bling around and walk around in groups etc, they'll be fine. gooseberry fool happens here just as it does anywhere else. :P

They didn't have nothing to play for plus the fact that the Germany U-21 are a decent side.

Some workers from SA that I met during my Work Experience said that they love being re-assigned to places abroad as they get sick of getting shot at. I also met a guy at a Stranglers concert who worked there for a few years who also got shot at. I guess it really must be a case of wrong place wrong time, or right place right time.

But yeah. I do hope the WC goes well. Personally, the impression I get with SA influenced me enough to avoid applying for tickets. I think for alot of people it carries a bad rep from the media.

Liverpool are not about to go bust. RBS will lend them £350m for a bit longer.

Good news, and with the NHL team sold, they shoujld be able to pay off some of that debt at least.

OT: Football365 has turned into the worst football site I've ever seen. Every day it runs with headlines that make absolutley no sense and can't back up PLUS after going on about Ronaldo leaving manu for 2 yrs, they where the last to the story when he eventually made the move. :fp:

Utter garbage.

Didn't we come to the conclusion that they were merely proposing it?

Just seen the Newcastle away kit...

I realise I'm a bit late to the scene, but this is comedy gold! Poor sods look embarrassed to be wearing it and rightly so!

What is so funny about it guys? I'm obviously missing something here. It is not a stunner, of course, but it's hardly an insult to the eyes. It is a clean and fairly inoffensive away strip.

No wonder Micheal Owen wanted to leave...

...to be fair, it isn't the worst strip I've seen. There are much more shockers out there.

That Newcastle one reminds me of this Liverpool abortion from 2004/05.

To be fair, at least that Liverpool strip is actually yellow, not that honking mustard colour that the Newcastle strip is.

Owen left after wearing that said strip - he's not doing it again.

That's the 1997/98 alt, no? Macca got that goal against Arsenal in it. They made up for it when Adidas came in and did a beautiful makeover on it a couple of years back.
