Probably my favouritest sitcom ever. (Apart from the first season). At the moment I think Season 4 was the best, although this changes alot. Best character, apart from Mr B and Baldrick would have to be General Melchett. (It's very close between him and Queenie though).

Easily the best scene for me.

Best character is blates Flashheart. Let's dooo ooo oooo ooo it!

I'm also loving Goes Forth the most at the moment as well, mainly for Melchett.

Not my favourite sitcom ever but always watchable and no British sitcom has yet to better it.

I like the Third the most for the Macbeth episode.

The most heart rending ending to a sitcom ever?

Yes.

Can't think of any American sitcoms which better it tbh. Nobody does sarcasm better than the British and Rowan Atkinson is the strawberry floating master.

Greatest thing on televison ever. FACT!

My favourite lines.

"Baldrick, you wouldn't know a subtle plan if it painted itself purple and danced naked on a harpsichord singing 'Subtle plans are here again!'

'Dunny on the wold... Population: Three rather mangy cows, a daschund called Colin and a small hen....in its late forties!'

Class. Utter Class!

Don't even get me started on the similes.

I always liked this one.

Baldrick: "I have a cunning plan, my lord"

Blackadder: "You mean as cunning as a plan devised by a fox who is so cunning than he has been elected Professor of Cunning at Oxford

Flasheart: The first thing to remember is: always treat your kite . . .

[Flasheart taps the picture of the Sopwith Camel with his stick.]

Flasheart: . . . like you treat your woman!

[Flasheart whips the air with his cane.]

George: How, how do you mean, Sir? Do you mean, do you mean take her home at weekends to meet your mother?

Flasheart: No, I mean get inside her five times a day and take her to heaven and back!

I have the book of the complete scripts, which was my choice of book prize for something i did at secondary school when I was about 15. I am now 23. Blackadder was sort of a role model for me growing up.

'I've got a plan so cunning you could brush your teeth with it.'

'As effective as a catflap in an elephant house.'

"Blessed, as you are, with a head that is emptier than a hermit's address book"

I find Arrested Development funnier than Blackadder. But my comment was more on how there have been relatively few brilliant British sitcoms in the last twenty years or so.

I have the box set unopened. :( I should get around to rewatching them all. Season 4 is my favorite, it's a shame that "back and forth" thing was crap :(

I thought it was just HitmanMiles who was into that stuff.

A fox is known for being cunning though. That quote's ruined for me now.

I liked how they showed the full take of the brilliant final scene in the recent documentary and how terrible it looked.

did anyone see the documentary that was on overthe christmas period or just after i think, it was brilliant, I loved the show and actually i remember having a history lesson when i was about 13-14 and our teacher got us to watch the last episode of Blackadder Goes Forth . Blackadder was really funny , The first season was a bit shitty but it got better straight away in season 2. Fry and Laurie where the best additions to the cast through the series.
