Mrs. Miggins: So, who are they electing when they have these elections?

Blackadder: Ah, the same old shower: fat Tory landowners who get made MPs when they reach a certain weight, raving revolutionaries who think that just because they do a day's work that somehow gives them the right to get paid... Basically, it's a right old mess. Toffs at the top, plebs at the bottom, and me in the middle making a fat pile of cash out of both of them.

I was lent the complete Blackadder collection on DVD by my headchef about 4 months ago. Having said I've never seen it before.
He claimed it was the funniest thing ever.

I've not yet started to watch it.. Am I a failtron for not watching it yet?

I liked series one. Really liked the quirky daftness. In its own right it has a certain charm. The others are far superior though. I prefer the second and third series though.

Lewis, you have a woman's eyes. I wager those eyes haven't....

More quotes!

E: Baldrick, have you no idea what irony is?
B: Yeah, it's like goldy and bronzy, only it's made of iron.

E: Well saddle my horse then.
B: What d'you think you've been eating for the last two months?
E: Well go out into the street and hire me a horse.
B: Hire you a horse? For ninepence? On Jewish New Year in the rain? A bare fortnight after the dreaded horse plague of old London Town? With the blacksmith's strike in its fifteenth week and the Dorset horse fetishists fair tomorrow?

Then put this on (holds out reins) you look like you could do with the exercise.

I like the "lost history" premise of the first series, I also liked the the acting, scripts, jokes, weekly prologues and overall lack of Ben "nob gag" Elton.

Blackadder II was a good reinvention of the idea, but the third and fourth series were comparatively weak IMO.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

You're more wrong than Mr Wrong McWrong. who's in the Guiness Book of records for 10th consecutive year, for being the wrongiest person, ever to take part in the Wrong olympics.

It's 4 > 2 > 3 >>>>>>>>>>1

Because I love you (No Homo) im going to just agree to disagree. I have stated my preference. Perhaps a poll would be useful. Tell you what is great though that this thread has persisted. Love Blackadder and I'm loving the shared love on here too. Great when a quality program continues to be appreciated time and time again.
