Hands down, my favourite sitcom ever.

The fourth series is my favourite, closely followed by the third. The less said about the first series the better.

You know, I actually quite like the first. It's far from perfect, but it's still fascinating to watch. I mean, it has freaking Brian Blessed in it, what more do you need?

I haven't seen 4 often enough, but used to know 2 and 3 like the back of my hand.

I like the Third the most for the Macbeth episode.

I enjoy Rowan Atkinson in Blackadder far, far more than his Mr Bean stuff.

It's probably the best written sitcom. It's hysterically funny and we will never see anything like it again as a lot of modern comedy shows aim for cheap gags or visual shocks (Little Britain) to get cheap nasty laughs. With Blackadder, it was all down to the acting & a superb script.

I've been a fan of Blackadder since the 80's and before Christmas last year, Dave did a special on Blackadder that included cast & crew interviews and lots of unseen behind-the-scenes footage. It was excellent. I don't think I'll ever delete it from my V+ box!

It's all in the delivery and Atkinson is the master.

You got it the wrong way around.

A great show, sure, should've stopped earlier though, but i hate to say that.

I always thought that was a deliberate part of the episode, as you couldn't say 'strawberry float' on the BBC in those days.

It was.The whole point of the joke is you know what she means, and it being completely out of character.
