How the strawberry float, could a robot that size in the gas station scene sneak up on you!?

It didn't sneak up, it was brought to the station by the carrier.

The carrier that had been following Kyle & Co since LA.

Fine...

How the strawberry float, could a carrier that size in the gas station scene sneak up on you!?

IT's nothing big, it's just something I thought was funny...

I recommend waiting for the director's cut, should be much better than the theatrical release.

Terminator: Salvation” may not be hitting theaters for another two weeks, but that hasn’t stopped director McG and his team from starting work on the inevitable home video release blowout. In an interview with Collider, the director revealed a couple of tidbits that fans can expected to see included on the DVD/Blu-ray.

The biggest news is the revelation that the disc will come packing 30-40 minutes of deleted footage, including some John Connor speeches, an alternate ending and… wait for it… Moon Bloodgood topless. There will also be some sort of extra - presumably some sort of picture-in-picture Blu-ray exclusive - in which McG walks into the frame for some storyboard-to-film comparisons.

Hells yeah.

Just saw it, liked it.

7/10

My one gripe was the editing. Much like well, most other hollywood blockbusters these days, it's too choppy. We see Connor go from talking to his wife in a hangar, making a speech over the radio, quickly back to the hangar saying goodbye to his wife in 10 seconds. You're left thinking....wait wait wait, slow down. And then again in the river....

Connor speaking to Wright, telling him to go to Skynet, calmly. And then out of nowhere he shouts...

"WHAT ARE YOU?!?*!"

It felt very out of place. Like there was sentences before that were cut for the lower rating. Still, the action scenes were great and the characters likeable. Thought Bale's intensity bounced off Worthington's more sympathetic character quite well. Story could have been clearer, pacing slightly slower, but it was a great thrill ride overall.

I'm guessing I wasn't the only one to be very pleased that they dedicated the film to Stan Winston.

I thought it was pretty entertaining, despite some of the obvious flaws. A solid 7/10 and a huge improvement after the abortion that was Rise of the Machines.

I would say go see it. I think there is enough there to warrent seeing it at the movie house. If anything, see it for the cinematography

The script might be a bit better as Jonathan Nolan will be writing it (unless that's recently changed)...but I don't have much hope for the movie if they go with the rumoured plot/story.

I haven't seen the plot but I was hoping for something like this

I was thinking after I saw it I wanted to see how John Connor brought everyone together and why everyone believes he is the savior. We see flashbacks to how it all began while seeing Connor leading the preperations for the final battle on Skynet. Prehaps we see an older Kyle being prepared to go back in time to save Sarah while Skynet are making huge waves of attacks on the Resitance. Having an ending ala Empire Strikes Back with everyone taking on their role and the humans on the brink of collapse. Also signs of T-1000 in development which will continue in 6

T5 spoilers...(rumoured plot)

“They’ve figured out time travel to the degree where they can send more than one naked entity. So you’re going to have hunter killers and transports and harvesters and everything arriving in our time and Connor fighting back with conventional military warfare, which I think is going to be strawberry floating awesome.”

Robert Patrick will most likely be making an appearance in T5, but not as the T-1000.

So in T5 the war goes back in time to before Skynet fired the nukes?

Yup, that might change though. (the above rumoured plot is from March, it's possible they've changed the plot since then)

One movie website, which is usually right with its rumours, is stating that the fifth Terminator movie may take place in present day London.

If Connor goes back in time then he can't get back to his own present. Which means if T5 takes place straight after T4 then someone (or something  ) else is known as John Connor and becomes the Resistance's leader.

It'll probably be after he becomes an awesome leader, though, if that's the plot.

Well worth a read , I know the london thingis nothing new , but this article has some new tidbits!

The most drastic changes were made when McG went to meet Christian Bale to discuss Bale coming aboard the Terminator project. McG wanted Bale to play Marcus Wright, but Bale was apparently more interested in playing John Connor. The problem was that John Connor was mainly heard and not seen until the final moments of the film. So Bale demanded almost behemoth sized re-writes to the script so the John Connor character to give the character more screen time. In the original script, John Connor is still, in fact, the leader of The Resistance but it's more of a secret than anything. He lived on the HQ sub and was basically in hiding as almost no one ever saw his face. Connor would address the masses via radio and was the voice of The Resistance not showing up until the closing minutes of the film.

Wow, the original script would have been great. Bale ruined it.

I truly hope that they get new editor & writers if they do another one after this.

So many times during the film I was thinking, "dumb" and that doesn't make sense.

These questions may have been asked already but,

How did the machines know the significance of Kyle Reece never mind identifying him as a boy???
Why didn't the machines just kill Kyle when they grabbed him?
Why did skynet have manually operated consoles and how the !!!! did T-800 fuel cells get left on a bench like a human mechanic might leave them?
Why do T-600 & 800s only show up one at a time?
Why would a Terminator motorbike have human controls?

Why why why if you say you are a fan of the franchise would you release it as a 12????
Why did they release a film with such a pants script?

Saying all that, the first sequence with Conner taking off in the helo to crashing was very well done.
Moon thingy was fit
The machines made a cool noise
The action was great

Doesn't it. Imagine hearing the voice of John Connor thoughout the film and then for the finale the big reveal of the man who will go on to save humanity. Hit the Terminator music, roll credits. That would have been such an awesome way to setup the sequel and give the viewer that 'oh my gawd, the next film is going to be epic!?!?!?"

Instead we get Bale on a one man mission that can penetrate Skynet whenever he feels like. We, the viewer, are now in doubt that can anyone make the next film better if McG and Bale are involved :|

Watching it again tonight, on a bigger screen and (hopefully) without some complete fucktard that continuously chatted in the back row. Inconsiderate banana split.

No, just no.

John Conner had to be a pretty big presence in T4 for the simple that people wouldn't just start following a random voice over a radio. (not to mention that Skynet could very easily trace the radio signal & kill him)

He had to earn the respect/command who takes the fight to the machines & shows that it's still possible for humanity to fight back & win. (the ending with them taking down the San Fran branch of Skynet should have been amazing, but they strawberry floated it up by making Skynet into a cheap Bond villain who makes some very strawberry floating stupid decisions.)

And the real problems with the movie were that it was too damn short (40mins were cut from the theatrical release), characters weren't given enough screen time so we actually started to care about them, scenes were editing to buggery (the Conner/Kate scene where it just fades to black is an example) & they focused too much on the big set-pieces.

T5 sounds like more of the same except it's probably going to be set in the past, which makes no strawberry floating sense. :fp:

I saw this today. I was utterly bored and couldn't care less about any of the characters.

Right, babe-off?

The chinky bird or Connor's girlfriend?

Connor's missus was dead fit, I thought.

6.5/10 probably. It got better towards the end I thought and the CGI Arnold was pretty good.

Marcus' whole weird shout thing whenever he received bad news was unintentionally hillarious.
