Um, thanks. :)

I'm suspicious, as no one is ever that nice on here, without some kind of highly saracastic undertone..

:D

No, I really hope you do. I went into it last night thinking it wasn't going to be any good but I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. I get really excited by big, new releases so I know how you feel and just hoping you enjoy it dude.

Gonna head out in a minute. Will post on my return. :)

I thought it was terrible Skynet now has a voice, personality and feels the need to explain its actions to a grunt. :fp:

And for a supposedly advanced AI, it makes some very stupid mistakes.

Why not just kill Kyle as soon as they took him out of the processing line? why not send hundreds of HK's, harvesters, T-300 & 600s after Conner instead of one, unarmed T-800.

Skynet could have killed both & reset everything, instead it acts like a complete & utter twit & sends only one T-800/doesn't kill Reese as soon as it has him in the factory.

Ridiculous.

And that's not even taking into account the 20+ times that Marcus could have been activated & killed both Reese & Conner. :fp:

The editing was also pretty bad, same goes for the acting, the ending, pretty much everything about this movie was bad.

Very disappointing.

My review:

Despite the cameo from you know who & I quite liked sam worthington, I thought it was another underpants skidmark on the terminator franchise.

A dissapointing 2/5

This is worth seeing then I take it? I can't decide whether to wait for the Blu ray or go to the cinema.

EDIT - Just seen Sarge's post. Doesn't sound good.

I do agree with your Skynet stuff... About only sending one... Y'know.

But, I liked the film. I thought the dystopian landscape was really believable and... Well I just thought it was good overall.

I'd give it a 7.5/10.

The film starts as it should go on, but by the mid-point you realise that you're not going to get what you want out of it.

Perhaps we're all spoiled. Do we expect too much of our movies? How can they ever live up to our expectations? I've been waiting over fifteen years - since T2 - for an adequate conclusion to this story, but can I reasonably expect to get one?

The only film series I can think of that really delivered in its final is the orginal star wars trilogy (the prequels failed miserably). Matris came very close, but doesn't quite work. Can anyone think of more?

Pretty much in agreement with Sarge but saying that I still thought it was ok. The opening 10 mins were brilliant, the shot of John Connor in the helicopter was a sight to behold

Now for things I don't get

1) What was the point in Marcus? Literally had no impact on the story at all
2) Why, in the prison, were Terminators wearing rags on their heads?
3) Where was all Terminators? Was this a prison or Skynet? Because John Connor got into that place pretty easy
4) Why was Marcus allowed to roam Skynet at will?
5) Since John has Marcus's heart now, in the next film will John turn good and bad?

But over all of that it still was a huge step up from 3 which I hate with a passion. Next time, I hope we see a more consistent script

The alt ending was that John died. So they skinned him and put his skin over the terminator bloke so that it looked like John was still alive to everyone else. But then the terminator activates and kills them all.

Seriously.

Wouldn't that mean that this whole time we believed John Connor is to save humanity was a complete and utter waste of time and completely destory the Terminator universe? Lord  :fp:

1) He was actually the whole point of the film :fp: It was his development that was the suprise to Connor, and he pretty much saved the day. Connor mentioned that it was something new and not what he expected thus he worried it was a change in the timeline. The whole plot centered on Skynet using Marcus to lure Connor, and his human side shinning through at the end

2) Not sure why inside but the idea was to disguise them from a distance as they looked crude (In T1 Kyle stated they had rubber skin)

3) Im guessing they didnt keep loads in the heart of the building except the production lines. Connor made mention that no human had ever gone that close to Sky net territory so im guessing they didnt feel it was insecure.

4) Skynets plan was to allow marcus back inside thats why they let him run free, plus he had a control chip in his brain.

5) I hope not although its the exact stupid thing writers would do.

I really think they missed a fantastic story opportunity with Marcus. They could have made it that his development was a plan by the dying Doctor to create Terminators who were built solely to save/help humanity.

Just imagine an army of Terminators who think they're human.

Instead he was turned into another lame & wasted plot point.

Shame.

And those of you hoping that T5 will be better.

T5 is going to be so much worse than this if the rumours about the plot are true. :fp:

Pretty sure he is, I think he signed up to do all three movies.

The script might be a bit better as Jonathan Nolan will be writing it (unless that's recently changed)...but I don't have much hope for the movie if they go with the rumoured plot/story.
