mic wrote:Well, as much as we'd all love to dismiss T3 entirely, those events were instrumental in showing that the war was indeed inevitable.

Sarah thought she'd changed the timeline with the destruction of Cyberdyne and the death of Miles Dyson, but clearly that wasn't the case - she merely once again prevented the death of her son and thus ensured the survival of the human resistance in the future - all of which begs the question why future-John thought it would be enough to kill Dyson and blow up a building?

We most certainly shall, however, utterly disregard the Sarah Conner Chronicles, utter garbage that it is (I couldn't endure beyond Ep.5).

It strikes me as highly improbable that the resistance would be aware enough of Skynet's plans to send back a protector on three seperate occasions (four, even, if we consider the abovementioned but now disregarded T:SCC). What, do the resistance have somebody on the inside pretending to be a machine, or do they just use the services of 'Time Travel R Us'? It's silly now.

Having said that, if T4 was any indication, it can't be very difficult to break into Machine HQ and steal a ride on the time machine...

You've missed the best episode so far. I 've just started to watch it and I would actually go onto say that I thought it was a brilliant episode, handled wiutha lot of care and a ton of money. This is coming from a die hard Terminator fan. Mic, if you can atleast watch E6, then make your mind up. The series has more good than bad, very suprised by it.

Still better than T3 8-)

Also T1 > T2 > T4 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> T3

Here's my idea for T5:

John Connor hires Kyle Reese as a spy. He dresses him up as a pizza delivery boy and sends him to the machine headquarters with a fake delivery. "We did not order any pizza, does not compute". They let him in anyway until they can find out if anyone ordered it. Kyle goes snooping about, and finds a time machine. The pizza order is for "Termy Nator", obviously a crank by John-boy Connsy. Deflated, Kyle sits on a chair and leans back. Suddenly, he topples over and into one of the open time machines. It had just been used by the T-800, so the time period was already set. Just before he gets sent back, he opens the pizza box and sees instructions to protect Sarah from the terminator spelled out in pepperoni.

The other plot in the film would be John Connor throwing bombs at stuff.

I did this by severing my real arms and replacing them with super-human cyborg arms.

Alright, but if it's as bad as the rest, I'm billing you for my time.

You know what I'd like to see in T5? No more mentioning of going back in time or killing certain members of the resistance, I'd rather just see the full-on war against the machines and maybe - just maybe - another Terminator-on-Terminator fight, perhaps between an attacker and a re-programmed Terminator.

Absolutely - there's nothing wrong with the Terminator-on-Terminator action, it's just the endless need for timetravel as a storyline. Why can't they just get over that already and move on to what we all want to see - the future war?

The signal wasn't real, it was a Skynet trap.

There are at least a few minutes of future war scenes in the pre-credits sequence.

TruGamez wrote:Downloaded this the other day & watched it. I rather enjoyed it myself, much better than 3, not as good as 2 or 1 though IMO. Looking forward to T5 & no doubt T6, I still don't really under How & Why Skynet became self aware as well a few other things so hopefully they'll be covered in T5 & T6. Won't be getting T4 on DVD though until the last Film in the series is released as there will no doubt be some kind of ultimate box set thing, so hopefully the Cut stuff thats on the DVD will turn up on YouTube or somewhere.

A few things I don't get RE T4:

- John Connors Wife. Is this the same Character who was his girlfriend in T3? Yes

- How comes The Resistance had access to Military (?) Helicopters & Fighter Jets when Skynet had gained control of all military personnel didn't they? I suppose they got their hands on the one's left lying around on military airbases and stuff. I would have thought most would have been destroyed on J-Day

- The Skynet Base that was destroyed. This is just one base they destroyed, right? But is there one Central Skynet Base the Resistance needs to destroy or are they going to Broadcast that Signal across the planet from somewhere?
Nope, that was just one base. The San Francisco hub if you like. If you remember Conner said at the end the World wide war continues against the machines

Skynet became "self aware" in the third film. If you remember there was a virus going around affecting internet/ software/ communications etc. Kate's dad was head of Skynet and issued the command to turn it on the combat the virus problem.

 I've seen that film loads of times and yet have no recollection of this. Who features? It can't be Kyle since he's not in it and Sarah's dead by then. I remember the film just starting with the music and title? I've even seen the extended edition (which really doesn't add much).

Does anyone else concur? Time to load it up again, I think...

There are future scenes of resistance fighters against the machines. T1000's, HK's and those massive land-tank things with lasers. Oh yes, lasers! We've yet to upgrade to them. Hopefully see them in the next film.

T1000's in future war scenes?! I'm quite certain I'd recall that! Surely you mean the old T800's? :?

How could I forget that?! *hits self in head repeatedly, perhaps a little too hard* What's wrong with me?!

I was right the first time - T2 IS better than the orginal, although the story is so tight between them that it's hard to properly distinguish between the two...

Oh, the singular advantage T1 has is the 18 rating - I didn't really like Jim's decision not to have too many deaths in T2 for the 15 rating.

I  Robert Patrick's T1000!

 Why did T3 have to ruin it all by being so gooseberry fool? I knew this would happen from the moment I learned of Cameron's absence. I blame T3 for T4.

The bit I hated most in T3 was when he said "you remind me of my mum" to that whiny bitch sidekick.

Wasnt the whole point of the T3 incarnation of Connor that he wasnt supposed to be a double hard bastard at that point? He was a whiny gooseberry fool in T2, and a whiny gooseberry fool in T3. Quelle surprise

Concerning Salvation, there's a big hole in the story that bugs me no end: how the strawberry float does Skynet know Kyle Reese is John's father? Only John, Sarah (dead) and Kyle from the future (also dead) know that, so how the strawberry float does Skynet know? :|

Yes.

I have seen a few on Virgin's on demand service and it actually isn't that bad. It is incredibly cheesy in places but in my opinion it is worth watching. Pure popcorn TV. I like the good Terminator. I'd be giving her all kinds of special orders.
